I have a problem. One empty cupboard in my kitchen and it's really silly/greedy/childish to want to run out and spend money getting stuff to fill it. Isn't it?? :silenced:

Absolutely not. Nature abhors a vacuum ..... :rotfl:

I'm surprised though - don't you have a hundred boxes of teabags to store in it? Perhaps you could stuff your RV in there when he's being especially grumpy?

Oh now, I must go and walk the dogs and do something useful before work. Tessy frightened me this morning. She was still sleeping so I came downstairs to make my breakfast. Bruno followed me down. No Tessy - very unusual as she usually follows me everywhere. I went upstairs and she was still sleeping and so still I thought she had died. I couldn't breathe. Thank God when I touched her she stirred. She's downstairs now but curled up fast asleep. I shall be keeping a close eye on her today to check she's not coming down with anything. She was fine at bedtime last night, jumping around and trying to kiss my nose to persuade me to give her a treat!

Hope all the pets who are scared of fireworks are much happier this morning.

Anyway, must get on. Have a good day folks. xxx

Any ideas what I can do old style one armed? Just had surgery on wrist and off for at least 2 weeks. Think I may go mad!

I suggest you consider the problem carefully Mar, this cupboard could cause you major cash flow problems. As I see it if you fill it with sweeties it would be empty in 36 -48 hours thus causing you to spend more money on petrol and supplies to re-fill it and so on and so on....hmmmm ....now fill it with oats and powdered milk and it will be slowly used up......ooooh just like the sweeties will give you a short burst of energy and the porridge will keep you going for ages - hey see the analogy :rotfl: wow I suprised myself there. :rotfl:

I need to get out more !

SmileyT I hope your dogs were not spooked out too much with Bonfire night. I was even disappointed with the organised display which was a long way from homes, I think the practice will die out in time.

Many who attended were more interested in the small fair that was there and buying some kind of special flashing multi coloured lights that they were waving around.

I was going to suggest sweeties for that empty cupboard especially having watched that documentary and finding that website. I really would not know what to buy...

Probably tired and comfy. Poppy dog has become increasingly more awkward to get out of bed in the morning, especially is it is cold.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I too have seen you always try to help Popperwell but as someone else has said he does not want the help.
He only eants attention so the best thing you can do is to put him on ignore as he is really not worth getting upset over.

No one on here is questioning you only him and his motives I imagine.

Do not feel bad about ignoring him either.

My inbox is full of people who have messaged me saying they feel the same way about him

Lovely sun here now but think it is going to stay very cold. At least the sun means the house will feel warm enough not to tempt me to put fire on until later. We have huge windows, which is helpful in sun but much less so on grey days.

Am another who hates fireworks. I'm finding it quite hard to carve out a life for myself now my children are all grown up with only an almost 18 year old left at home, feel redundant and lost most of the time, but when I try and look for positive things to life one of the first that come to mind is that I don't have to spend money going to a firework display and feeling cold, usually damp, and cross at waste of money......oh I am such a grump :D
Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!!
  • Morning all, very cold here today with a fine frost on the lawn and blue sky and sunshine. MEME thank you for your care, DOCKY is fine this morning, the noise was still going on well past midnight, still with the huge earth rattling thumps, It is getting sillier each year. Sorry if I was grumpy when I posted last night, the poor animals bear the brunt of fear at this time of year and it makes me so very angry that all I can do for the boy is watch him shaking under the desk, that is not a rightness in life.

FUDDLE my pet, there are people in life who are so self obsessed that they cannot comprehend anything that doesn't relate to their percieved needs. As many other folks on here have suggested, do as we do and use the ignore button. I cannot recall one time when anyone else's needs or problems have featured in the ME,ME,ME, POOR ME liturgy that pours forth limitlessly. Think of you in this and make your life easier by not reading, goodness knows life is difficult enough for most of us but we all seem to work our way through it together don't we? Today is a fresh start my dear, let the problem go, it isn't your responsibility any more, you've tried your best to help, walk away - but stay here with us, we need you, not to mention that we think you're a great little person as well, Chin up little one, Cheers Lyn and Dockyxxxxx.
  • ELISAMOOSE - Make many cups of one handed tea petal, find a nice sunny spot and enjoy being warm, take a one handed small break from routine and enjoy a little time out for the next two weeks, it will restore your batteries, hope you're not too uncomfortable with the arm though, Cheers Lyn xxx.
