Never mind posters using the ignore button - my cat is using it now! She had to go to the cattery for a few days last week and when she gets home the end result is always the same, two days of her following me everywhere (even the loo) accompanied by none stop "talking". Then, when she is satisfied she is home to stay, she puts me on ignore. She cuddles up to DH, who she normally ignores and casts me disgusted glances from his lap. She turns her head away when I talk to her and refuses point blank to be picked up by me at all. Past experience tells me I get 3 or 4 days of this before she relents
Very cold here today so I make no apologies for reading this in bed wrapped in my dressing gown with aforementioned cat lying across my feet. Just because she isn't talking to me is obviously no reason to miss out on a comfy early morning snooze and she obviously doesn't know the lump she is lying across is anything to do with me...........otherwise she would move! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!! :mad:0 -
Brrrrrrr. VERY frosty here, which makes the children all excited as they think it's going to snow. I think they are going to be disappointed in that, thank goodness.
The dreaded day has arrived, the Wardrobe of Doom will ascend from chaos. We hope.
Hope all the pets have calmed down and there won't be too many bangs tonight.0 -
fuddle I agree with lillibet dripping I have seen you trying to help popperwell time and time again and at some point you need to stop trying as he seems to have no desire to change anything for himself. Just drop the rope and stop worrying. I have him in ignore as well and I'm sure I'm not alone. Take care of yourself please.
Mrs LW I hope that Docky is calmer and happier this morning xxx
We had very few fireworks last night. I'm used to a neighbour setting off what seem to be mortar bombs. They must be professional display ones as I don't think Mr T would sell ones that produce so many fizzes and bangs.
Funny Bonfire Night story...we took DS1 to the huge display that Leicester has when he was 10 months old. We were worried that he would find them frightening as they have very loud music and huge explosions. DS1 celebrated his first fireworks by sleeping through the whole lot of them. Not one movement or noise out of him. This is the child that used to be lulled to sleep by Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell II however.
Today I am off to knit and natter and will attempt to finish the baby hat. I wish I could knit as fast as the other ladies as I would have finished it in one night.
Time for tea and toast. Take care xxxx0 -
According to the Metro paper I picked up yesterday soje parts of the UK have already had fair bit of snow so no doubt it is coming.
I hope it stays away this weekend when the very touching Remembrance services take place...I am thinking of attending tis year, I usually only see the one at that takes place in London on the TV."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Morning
Frosty here but it does look pretty!
On another thread (I forget which one) there is a link to a government e-petition to try and get fireworks banned from private sale. I have signed up as one of my cats has not enjoyed the last few nights.
I remember when our local Indian restaurant opened a couple of years ago. They decided to celebrate with a firework display (in the middle of a housing estate). Their idea of fireworks seemed to focus on those with the loudest bang. I had never heard anything like it! So loud that all the windows rattled and pictures wobbled on the walls. As a protest I have never been inside their doors!!
Oh, and GQ, Axminster Tools is just down the road from me. Their showroom is incredible!!:rotfl:

Can I just say that I am more positive than I have been and I have taken onboard all the help and support I have been given and it has helped so sorry that you feel as you do as I have valued my time here. It has made a big difference.
I am coming out of the other side so to speak. I will never ignore any of you and support all that you are going through. If you ignore me so be it!:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Of course many of you won't see what I have written..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

I "ignore" people who I feel are likely to cause trouble and are not into the spirit of the thread, and that's all I'm saying on that.
I have a problem. One empty cupboard in my kitchen and it's really silly/greedy/childish to want to run out and spend money getting stuff to fill it. Isn't it?? :silenced:0 -
Ooooohhhhh........sweetie cupboard time mardatha
It depends on what you wanted to buy. I'd use it for Christmas presents as at the moment they are threatening to avalanche out of the cupboard in my bedroom. I have one Amazon order to place and one present to find for my DSIL. I have no idea what to get her and it is driving me nuts. Once I have worked that out I just need to pick up some stocking filler sort of things for DH. I have promised him a batch of tablet so that is one sorted.0
