It is who you are now that matters...not the past and none of us knows what the future holds..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

To happier things...if you can watch via the BBC I Player or wait for the repeats Nigel Slater did a programme on BBC Four all about...Sweets! It is called "Life is Sweets" Lots of memories of childhood(both happy and sad)which sweets bring.
Probably more than what we get today...the range seems somewhat limited. And the same items are in most shops/supermarkets...it features a sweet shop with the biggest variety I have ever seen...
It also has a website...though I had no idea it existed. It is amazing!"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Fuddle/Popperwell:-
You two need to grow up! This is the third time you have disrupted this thread with your bickering. Try Pm'ing each other next time.:(Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -

Oh boy, it's 10.32 pm and there are still mortar type fireworks going off with alarming regularity, don't people have any idea of what is acceptable any more? The poor dog is still under the desk and trying to make a hole in the wall to get away from it, I'm cold and tired and just getting a little bit angry with the whole fireworks thing tonight, Lyn x.
I know how you feel, one of ours is beside herself. She was desperate to tinkle but too scared to go out last night
How come elf n safety make you take a course to climb a ladder but any muppet can use fireworks
They should be twice a year only and at an organised display to give us a fighting chance of being prepared. Can't be organised when the little darlings are letting bangers off on the way to the school bus at 8 in the morning though can you :mad::mad:

Does anyone else get ridiculously pleased when someone on Pinterest re-pins a pin that you have pinned??
And how do they know so fast if they are not following me?
Also, how do you get more followers, I only have 5 , although that's better than nothing and quality rather than just quantity!;)
Blinking nippy here lthough, cuddling my hot water bottle.
I wonder that too Byatt....are you the same username on Pinterest as on here? PM me if you like and I'll follow you. I follow Fuddle and Possession and really enjoy their pins but then I enjoy their posts on here too, as I do yours. Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!! :mad:0 -
I don't appreciate being told to grow up. I stood up for myself.
You see popperwell? Nobody can see why it is I'm upset. You know what. I really am upset now. Crying at 6.30 in the morning because someone told me to grow up? That's not right.
I'm away to just get on with my real life.0 -
Don't take this the wrong way Popperwell but everyday I scroll down reading, your pic of the hand keeps popping up. It reminds me of the child at school who puts their hand up every time a question is asked " me me me, me, please miss me" :rotfl:
Vision of full grown male at a desk with hand up :rotfl:
Too many painkillers I think0 -

It's good to have some fun and lightheartedness..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Popperwell - you need to get out of your comfort zone and start challenging yourself.
ETA - just so there is no confusion - You can do something about your life - little challenges - otherwise your life will become merely an existence.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I tend to read but not post much.Catching up this morning I was amazed that people yet again had a one on one spat ona public forum.
This spat happened at stupid o clock with replies at 4am! some regular sleep patterns might help some posters see things in a sensible way.
I also feel that the thread kind of becomes a diary for some people's stream of consciousness feelings and surely that is not what it is for?
Personally I use the ignore button!0
