Pops - meant to say this earlier (thanks for the reminder 2T) you must put your heating on, extreme cold can damage more than just you, it can cause major damage to your household furnishings and electrical appliances, not to mention the pipework. Believe me the last thing you need is a burst water pipe.
Also part of your tenancy agreement will include a section that says you will keep the house in good order and well ventilated, heated etc.
If you did have a major flood or similar as a result of you not heating the place you could end up liable for all the costs.
I dont want to scare you but its really important especially when you live alone to have some regular heating on.

Its true pops i said to you a while about ago about keeping warm.
You have the money right now so pay to switch the darn things on. I am forced into it for the sake of my health and i can't afford it
Also if the pipes burst and the council realise you haven't the heated house you could face eviction.Sorry to scare but its true. Also if the pipes burst and it spreads to your neighbours home you could be liable. I know fine well i'll be paying the gas bill throughout the year.

When i used to live with my parents our next neighbours pipes burst and spread into our house. The council went mental with them.

I know one thing i haven't been able to get warm all day, my feet are freezing. My partner came back and tried telling me off for not having the heating on, till he felt them and they were hot.
Think i might go into town and buy a convention heater, my friend D has got one and its briliant and warms the room really well.

Oh and got some good news today, well good business news anyway. DH went to a job today and while he was there he got asked a fit a new boiler when he was checking over they fire. So think he's doing that tomorrow . Apparently he said he did a good and they wanted it changing anyway. Never know they might spread our name about for more plumbing work.

    Xmas Saver!
    Hi everyone,

No snow here, but it was -5 this morning. Took ages to clear the car.Thank goodness I have a cover for the windscreen, or I would still be there now.

Has anyone seen the new Sainsburys advert for using left overs. If I had a joint of meat the size they use, I would want it to feed us for a month not 2 extra days.

I am coping quite well on my no carb diet. But then it's only been a couple of days.

Hope everyone is warm and save.

    OMO xx

kezlou brill news over your OH and work, have you considered a heated throw instead or even a heated foot thingy? Both my boys are feeling the cold and if either was more reliable around electricity it would be the way I would go.

Happy Birthday to Savingqueen and Stiltwalker when you get up.

The talk of cold and snow, though nasty and inconvenient when I was in it, now makes me jealous. It's still stinking hot here, though people are happy that monsoon season is apparently on the way. They might be happy, but I'm not, I hate when I can dry my washing!

I woke up with an entirely pain free knee. I've discovered that if I don't move it at all for a few hours, it's pain free as long as I don't stand on it. Not practical, but I'm making the effort to be immobile.

OMO, I never understood ideas for "using up" roast meat. If I roast a joint of meat, it's sliced and used for roast dinner, then frozen in portions for another roast dinner. It's too precious to throw into other stuff!
