It was me who thought it looked good...but I haven't looked at it.

Book people had it for 4,99 plus postage, but Amazon have it for seven which was a whisker cheaper!

    update for today:-

Got reply from MD about my missing money! Getting some of it back (more than I expected though) and some vouchers for M&S so I can treat myself to new (and well needed) jeans. The money is meant to be getting paid on monday into my account. So I'll put it towards the end of jan bills. :j

Changed my canadian $20 and got £10.80. Put £10 towards Jan bills.

My Gran gave me £10 for petrol, thank you. Love her loads. I also cane home with a new mattress protector (for my spare bed), a carpet vac (for the stairs), a stomach exerciser and a sleeping bag. Thank you to my Gran (stuff from her loft).

Been asked back to the CS (it'll keep me sane) till I get a job.

Found my old biker jacket from my teens in my Gran's loft and it still fits!!!!! (Just but I loved this jacket and thought it had been binned).

Tea tonight was cheesey pasta for me and Ald*s pakora for OH (at £1.29 its a lot better than a takeaway!!!). Having a glass of wine tonight with OH (xmas pressie from his nephew and his gf). Not doing any tarot tonight, giving myself a little break.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

7WW - just done jog no.3, so it ramps up a bit on Monday. Felt about as much like getting out of bed at 7.30 to jog this morning (Saturday) as.... well, I just didn't feel like it!

I'm feeling much perkier since 2013 started. It seems I've got my mojo back. I made gyoza including the wrappers successfully yesterday, made some homemade okonomi sauce and some pancake syrup. I also finally sorted out some banking stuff I'd been meaning to do and have started blogging again. All in all, much improved.

Dads inquest is on Tuesday. Worried about mum, but she has 2 friends going with her and didn't want me over for it (mostly due to the $3000 cost). Hoping it being over will help her a bit.

A little sad...it would have been my Dear Dad's birthday today but he'd have been 89! Then again he passed away too young.

Hopefully, it will get easier as the day goes on...It seems as though all the birthdays and passings of my family are in the early months(January/February/March/April and May)when there are also the special times of the year for everyone like Christmas and New Year.

Hopefully that means the rest of the year cannot be linked in some way to sad times.

Hope all goes as well as it can on Tuesday Softstuff. Not going to be easy even if it ends up better than feared.

A little bit of good news...I have a Tesco's mini chopper(not used much)it packed up a while ago and I toyed with getting another of some kind but for some reason I checked the fuse in the plug earlier this morning and it had blown and the chopper is back in business...:)

On the other hand my bank's Insurance arm has taken payment of over £100 for the home contents insurance after saying they would not and me cancelling and going with Age Concern or whatever they are called so I have to sort that out this morning.

Don't you love banks? The insurance arm has admitted it is their fault but if I want my money back it could take 2 weeks and would arrive as a cheque but in the meantime the charge is still on the card and I still have to make a payment. The cheque will not refund the transaction charge either.

If I do it through the credit card company they may still take two-three months to sort it out and in the meantime if I don't make a minimum payment of £5 each month to them, it might go against me...and yet the insurance part of my bank admits they have money they should not have. It's the same bank for goodness sake!

    What a carry on...

And I suspect as it was a 0845 number to both places I have been charged for the calls too:mad:

Pops if they have admitted their error they must refund the charges too, you can try asking for a BACS payment, remember to lodge a complaint with the bank and then look into contacting the ombudsman, maybe try one more call and ask for BACS and the charge refunded, when they say no, ask them to send you a copy of the formal complaints procedure and the details of the ombudsman. May be the wind up the them.

I have woken to discover a deal on Panto tickets so have booked some, I tried in Novemeber to book our local one but it was coming put at almost £100 for all of us to go, which I neither afford or justify, a deal has come on for a big one in the city which means I have paid £45 instead for a bigger, big name production on Friday!!

Softstuff - will be thinking of you all on Tuesday, cant believe its taken so long to get going, very hard for family to move on with such a delay.

Glad to hear the movie is good, I have arm twisted a few friends to go with me and make it a girly night soon. :)

Have to go to optician now with DS8 who has broken his glasses yet again, major meltdown last night so its picking up pieces time today.
Its our wedding anniversary and we are supposed to go out for a meal, but I have to say I am really not keen on the whole thing, seems alot of work for little gain :)
  • Happy wedding anniversary kidkat.

Pops it pays to persevere with these things.

Softstuff these things are never easy. Will be thinking of you and your family.

Sorry about my last post yesterday it sounds a bit woe is me and that was not my intention.

I have spoken to OH about our financial situation this morning and to both daughters and they are all on board with my plans for the month. We will still be giving DD1 some money to go back to uni with but it will be less than her usual monthly allowance. OH has agreed to stop buying posh coffee on his breaks at work, he gets his first salary at the end of the month and we will be back on track then :j.

I just need to check out the card and present situation for the 7 family birthdays this month. I know I have got the majority of them and I can do a bit of re-gifting for my SIL's gift.

I got a bit muddled up with the OS weight loss thread and started a week early so the 3lb :j I have lost this week do not count on the thread but it was still a good start. My aim is to loose 10lb over the next 12 weeks through a balanced diet and portion control. I am hopeless at counting calories as once I start to do that I start to feed deprived and then constantly think about the next meal. I know it is all psychological but I need to find something that works for me and that definitely does not.

DD1 asked for a family day today before she goes back to uni tomorrow but that will involve her actually coming downstairs at some point and there are no signs of that at the moment ut as it is lunch time I am sure we will see both of them soon.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
