I don't look heavy and my weight has come down but when I was able to walk I was in the 8st-9st area(I think)
If you saw how little I eat(mainly fruit and veg)you'd think I should be ok but it is not helped by being on steroids etc...my Consultant does not seem troubled by this. I am nearer 12 stone(I think)not good when I am only around 5' 4":(
I used to have a lovely flat stomach too but when I was at my worst with medication the extra weight(I blame that for my arthritis)did my joints but it made my stomach flabby and I think that can only be fixed by surgery. I even have stretch marks.:o
But I doubt I will ever consider trying to put it right and no one sees except me(TMI)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Evening all hope you all had a good year!
So pleased for you stiltwalker, its great when your little ones progress. Should have seen how excited i was last week when ds put his shoes on the right feet. I was in tears and so proud of him.
We haven't done much today, been watching boardwalk, whilst the kids played.
Then I showed OH have to make a sausgae plait, i'm not allowed to cook so i just sat whilst he followed instructions.
It was delicious with math, veg and gravy mmmmmm
Didn't get any sleep last night as i was in agony, so hopefully will sleep tonight. Have to admit .I prefer xmas to new year anytime.0 -
Fab news Stiltwalker and little Stiltwalkers! What a great start to the new year.
GQ - I feel your pain through my own winter hibernation layers of fat. If I ever get stranded without food for a while at least I will be amongst the survivors! Seriously I need to loose a good 2 stone at least. My weight has crept on very gradually over several years. When I hit 39 I decided I couldn't be fat and 40 and also we had a rare big family holiday that year with lots of slim folk and I shamed myself into loosing about 3 stone. Boy I looked and felt good.
Then an op 2 years in a row with lots of recovery and rest time and comfort eating and blow me if I didn't put the whole lot back on and a few extra pounds for good measure. I was so determined after I lost weight that I gave away all my bigger size clothes and then had to buy a second set when the weight went back on. I still have a wardrobe in size 10 and 12 and I'm now a very generous 14/16. I have so many clothes in different sizes, half my current set lives hanging outside the wardrobes.
Ok enough of all that. I don't do faddy diets and I can't afford the gym etc but I can walk more and cut down on the naughty stuff so I will be joining you all. We still have lots of naughty Xmas food though and can't even give it away as I will never hear the end of it from DH (currently chomping his way through one of those family size bags of crisps) Don't despair GQ - we are a determined bunch on here and we will help you on your mission.
Had a nice day, nothing exciting but managed a couple of loads of laundry and hoovered the car out pre MOT (need to wash it tomorrow but rain forecast drat!) and few other odds and ends. We took kids to a park for a run about and DH decided against wellies as kids wouldn't be able to run round in them and we could just stick to the concrete path. Parts of the path were flooded and the only way was through tons of mud - lots of fun and once you are muddy, you might as well go the whole hog. Only thing is now have 4 pairs of muddy jeans, 2 muddy coats and 4 pairs of filthy trainers to get clean.
Had a lovely mustard and honey glazed gammon, roasties, yorkies and tons of different veg, was so yummy and loads of gammon left for tomorrow and the freezer. We had last year's Xmas pud as couldn't face it on the big day and now have this year's to put away for next year :rotfl:, kids had a choc sponge pudding instead. This is the first time DS8 has eaten a warm pudding, he is such a fusspot but I am always so pleased when either of them discover they like a new food, we will get there eventually.
right off to make a cuppa and sort out some gammon to freeze. Kitchen a tip but might just leave it til tomorrow. Already stuck the dishwasher on once.

I daren't even tell my lot I'm going to try and cut back, because they'll either complain that the 'low fat' food tastes weird or I'll get sabotaged (mind you Mum was the main culprit and she's safely in London) I don't do faddy diets either, and I'd rather die in a puddle of lard than go to the gym.
I was wondering if I could manage to take the more up for it of the dogs for the four mile round the block walk a couple of times a week, on top of the daily walkies, that the other one prefers. Mattie won't walk from the house, I have to drive past the farm and park up for her to walk, and I'm sure it was taking her on the 4 miler a couple of times that gave her the idea if she refused to walk she'd not have to do it again!
It's hard to cut back on food, when it's what you do for a living, but I could certainly incorporate some healthy stuff on the stall. I have a healthfoodie market anyway with the GF and Vegan stuff, and I'm still contemplating buying a dehydrator...I'm struggling with justifying the cost a bit, but I'm trawling the internet for ideas of things I could do with it!!! They've got 10% off the one I'm eyeing up at the moment.

7ww my knees are no longer sore but thinking about ceasing couchto3k until I loose a stone. I've a heck of a lot of walking to do and thought about trying power walking training. In wondering if the twisting action rather than weight bearing would be easier on the knees?
You can't leave me now Fuddle  I did the first bit of couch to 5k yesterday and am struggling to find a bit of me that doesn't hurt a bit today! Asked hubby (jokingly) to put the morphine in my tea. I don't have much weight, but nevertheless felt my bum bounce with each little jog. Worst bit of me today, the muscles down each side of my abdomen. My knees by comparison aren't too bad, but I put this down to good shoes. Good news is, it hasn't bothered the tumour in my calf, so I'm cracking on. Heck, the first bit just served as evidence of how couchpotatoey I am.
That's some lovely new Stiltwalker. Glad to see 2013 is shaping up a bit better there.Possession wrote: »New report on the worst supermarket value products: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2255626/Tea-like-cabbage-water-wallpaper-paste-porridge-Britains-worst-brand-supermarket-products-named-shamed.html
I find that article a bit funny. I think the chap whinges a bit much. Apparently value tea isn't as good as super special finest tea.... well no s*** sherlock! I find value oats much the same as any other if you cook em, I've had those sainsburys value cornflakes and thought they were fine. I have often wondered if my managing on a low grocery budget was a case of lowering my standards. That said when things improved a bit for us, I bought better tea. Still buy value oats though.
GQ, I'm not weighing myself until mid Feb. I know where the scales are and they can stay there. I've eaten off plan over Christmas which was naughty for my health, but necessary for my sanity and am back solidly on plan now. I'm glad you found yours where you left them and that they didn't pack up and move on to where they'd be more appreciated!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Been doing a bit of digging for inspiration on the do more front Doglet is too old now for long walks these days so longer morning walkies sessions are out. Our walks have got considerably shorter this winter so in theory i have more time and could do something.....I have read on several places about research that stretching first thing boosts metabolism for the whole day. So I am going to do a couple of yoga and Pilates routines each morning after Doglet walking as our walks are shorter these days.Start info Dec11

Morning all,
I don't think I have ever been first to post in the morning (though often last in the eve) so here I am
Already done a few chores, windows wiped down (were streaming with condensation), dishwasher on etc and just about to wake up kids. Feel a bit mean as they are sound asleep but all need to be up at 6.30 tomorrow so wanted to break them in gently today. Still not even had a cuppa so will do that as well. Feeling like I need to shake off the indulgences of the last couple of weeks and get cracking with chores today. Will be easier next week when boys off to their learning zones.
Onwards and upwards folks!
