Softstuff, re that article. I'm not sure I've tried any of the items he mentions as the worst culprits, but I think it's typical Daily Mail rubbish reporting. He clearly says that lots of items are just as good as their more expensive counterparts but that doesn't make such a good story. For value tea though, I'd certainly agree if he said Tesco Value was rubbish, but Sainsbobs was really nice.
Still feeling awful after my (too) long walk yesterday. It's a shame, I guess bits of me still don't work properly despite my bionicness. DH back to work today, so a quiet day in with the children. DD wants me to watch Princess Diaries with her so I have that to *ahem* look forward to.

:) I'm impressed with this weightloss thingy; I'm one pound lighter this morning than I was last night.:p Yeah, I know it's just water and is probably rejoining me even as I type and drink tea.

Unfortunately, adding an exercise programme worth anything to my regular life isn't going to fly as the ME and my 60% fte job have me on the ropes most days anyway. Add in the shin splints, arthritic knees and the meds and you have a perfect muddle.

Howsomever, I need to do something. I'm large-boned and not far shy of 6 feet tall and will never be a twiglet. Even at 20, before I got ill, if my weight dipped below 10.5 stone, I got every darned bug going around. That was obviously the point of "too thin to be healthy" on my particular frame. I was so shocked when I went over 11 st. Now I'd adore to weigh so little.......:rotfl:

Although I'm on-trend with NY weightloss, I've been planning this for some time and just wanted a date to hang it on. Have realised that one of the dangerspots for me is coming out of the office mid-afternoon. I'm tired, my blood sugar is low, I'm often stressed and walk [STRIKE]past[/STRIKE] into shops.

It often starts with a legitimate errand into the supermarket for some grocery item and then I also come out with a 100g choccie bar which gets scoffed within the hour. Soooo, have decided that I shall re-organise my life so I have no need to go into a food shop in what is my personal danger time.

Today, I want some peppers for something I'm cooking after work. I'm gonna get them before work so no chance of being in the store when my willpower is low and my sugar cravings are high. Headology, as Pratchett would have it.;)

Back to work today for the first time in 2013. Gonna be mental on da phones. Hope everyone has a pleasant day; my region is stuck on an alternate pattern of lovely & sunny with grey & drizzly and we're doing grey today.

I love princess diaries Possession, I want to be a princess (without the excessive grooming - can you be a princess in fleece jimjams??)

Fuddle - I think most letting agents start out with good intentions but from the agencies I've dealt with in the past I know that good tenants are rare, I think the agents lose the will after a while.

I've dusted down the treadmill and vibration plate and been tracking my food on the previously mentioned app/site. It's good to be more aware of what you're eating. we're also taking part (not for sponsorship) in the dry January thingy. I turn 40 in 6 months and want to feel that I'm heading into my 40's in a more comfortable way.

It's DD day from the bank account today and I've set up a big mortgage OP to go out regularly too, no choice but to stick to my budget now.

Need to whip round the house and do a quick tidy, have friends coming for coffee this morning (they wanted to meet in town but my coffee is free!)

GQ - take a high protein snack like a hard boiled egg, slice of ham or a handful of nuts to work with you and eat those just before you leave the office. It should help...

A very belated happy new year to you all.

Sorry, had the pleasure of being in work yesterday, wasnt at all busy just a long long day. Went for a quick stroll after lunch and bumped into a young mum who i wirked with in a previous job. She has jus had a little boy, and she said he has been diagnosed with Cyistic fybrosis ?sp? She will have to move house as where she s currently it is very out the way. She looked really frazzled with the news.

OH is back at work today, and i have the day off. Sods law, we never seem to manage the same days off. Next week we have a weeks holiday to use up so we are going away for a couple of days. I have decided to go to newcastle. Never been before! We managed to get a hotel for £29 so this is a new year treat to ourselves.

I have been sorting out the useful items ready to carboot/online auction. I try every year to make a certain amount. Being very ambitous i am aiming for £500. I have the attic to start on as since i moved here, amashed to admit it but 8 years ago, the boxes are still there.

I too need to join in with the new year weight loss, i am ashamed to admit i am 5ft 2" and weight around 13stone. Also i am struggling to get into my jeans :-(

Right must get myslef motivated, off for shower and to get dressed.

    Take care everyone x x

Morning all. Nothing much to report today apart from still full of cold and my porch washing line fell down yesterday when i flung a tea towel on it!
I read your posts about the weight loss old style thread and thought i would weigh myself and then pop over to have a look but my scales are dead. I know where the batteries should be but i cant be asked to look for them at the moment. I weighted 13st the last time i weighed myself so i need to lose about 3 stone too.
    Urgh.

I need to lose a stone. I don't want to get on the scales in case they find its more than that after all the xmas cake :D I don't eat much but I don't move much either. It's raining AGAIN so that's yet another day of sitting here in this chair floating round the net/being bored. I've cleaned out all cupboards for new year and there's nothing to do.

I find it helps to set myself a goal of reading something self improving. Then I can guarantee I'll find all sorts of much more interesting things I'd rather do:D
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
  • Morning,
We have typical west coast weather here - rain, heavier rain, lighter rain, then rain for a change - wish it would cool down a bit and we might have snow, or at least frosty/dry which I prefer.
I don't weigh myself, although know i've put on some weight, but try and go by how healthy I feel - not very at the mo but hopefully once I get my arthritis settled again I can rebuild my fitness. I don't like exercising for the sake of it (if you know what I mean) but try and have a walk daily, plus spend time in the garden. I like to swim, but it hurts at the minute so haven't been for a while.
I'm a bit like GQ, with work and life I'm usually shattered by mid-afternoon (I work part-time) - i've taken to planning a snack for when i get home as I'm always starving then.
Right, going to have a tidy up today as back at work tomorrow,
    have a good day, WCS

Pooky I'm more armchair Indiana Jones than Princess Diaries, IYKWIM. But I promised, and I shall sit through it with her. DS won't be impressed but it will be an incentive to move away from the TV. I have decided to Flylady again so the children are being incentivised to tidy too - we promised the start of pocket money in the new year but it comes with lots of conditions attached.
