I think many of us are in reflective mood and a bit aprehensive of what the new year may bring...I think its always been so but this year seems to have had something negative hanging over it. Katie just popped in to say thank you so much for the recipe.0

Unixgirl, very sorry about the job but if you could line up an interview so quickly it speaks volumes about how employable you seem. Enjoy Christmas as much as you can and recharge your batteries for the New Year. Here's hoping it's a good oneIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Happy birthday Mardatha!
Unixgirl, really sorry about the job. I would have had a little blart as well, then like you dust myself off and have another go. No one is secure these days - what a horrible stress it all is. Try to do some frugal nice things for yourself over Christmas - it's easier said than done, I know, but keep your chin up and your flag flying.
I decided to do some rearranging of the kitchen and downstairs... oh dear. It's Christmas eve tomorrow and I'm in an unholy mess!
I think I got cabin fever after a week of enforced rest with a chest infection. I've reached the "Why the bleep did I start this?" stage now. I think it'll be really nice when I get everything back in place though.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas - I'll be doing a bit of family and friends visiting, and some family duties, but fully intend to relax and enjoy my own little home this year.
My guilty pleasure is solitude... some might think that wierd, but it's just the way I'm wired  Can't wait to get that Christmas telly on the go, with my toes toasting and my cat on my lap :cool:I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi, all.
Probably will be meeting myself coming back for the next couple of days so here and now I wish you all a peaceful Christmas. For those of you battling illness and disability I pray for a more painfree and comfortable time. For those of you in difficult domestic situations my hope is for patience and tolerance to prevail. For those battling depression, may the light at the end of the tunnel grow brighter.
And for everyone I pray that the real spirit of Christmas will shine through the bustle, the tiredness, the tinsel and the baubles.
Thank you for your company, the laughs, the tears, the occasional spats and all the loving support.
See you when it's all over.
Unix: remember that what's for you won't go past you. There's something better waiting for you.
Pops: be cosy and warm, live in the present moment and don't take life too seriously - I've been detecting a certain wry humour just lately. Nurture it.
Mar: I hope you get enough sweeties to keep even you happy.
Better go to bed before I get too carried away.
Love you all.

Greenbee what a lovely idea I have posted it to my FB page and a few of my friends have shared it too.
glad you liked it. It seemed so simple, and the idea of using unwanted or CS bargains to make a real difference rather than feeling that you have to hand over cold hard cash was appealing. And it seemed to fit with the idea of supporting people in tough times. All you need is a one person who knows where the homeless hang out in a city, and a group of people prepared to turn up, and you have something pretty special.
unix - so sorry about the job. Please believe that there is something better waiting for you. I know it's tough when you're wondering where the money for bills will come from, but hopefully something will turn up that will make up for the stress.0 -

Can it really be that bad?:pPops: be cosy and warm, live in the present moment and don't take life too seriously - I've been detecting a certain wry humour just lately. Nurture it.
Thank you, I hope my cheery and more positive outlook comes back, that is more my nature...I've lived through eight months of this already now I could easily say "How did I do that?" It may creep back without me realising and one day I'll find it has without realising. Perhaps it is..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
