Has anybody got any ideas on how to stuff some iron into the RV ? He won't take iron supplements in case of stoppages ;) although I've explained till I'm blue in the face that the Ferroglobin I'm taking doesn't have any effect at all. He is tired and grey and I'm sure he's low in iron. The good thing about the RV is that he will eat disgusting green stuff... I'd be grateful for your advice please, toughies who cook!

I thank rarely as I have an oversensitive touchpad on my mini-lappie, and I had so often reported someone as spam that I gave up doing it to every one. But I also didn't realise it could be misconstrued. :o

I donated to the food bank collecting at Sainsburys when I was in England - I heartily approve of non-specific lists of wants like "rice" and "tea-bags", so filled a basket with things and handed it over. I refused to donate to the one collecting locally here and made my thoughts known as to why: they were asking for specific things like "Kelloggs multi mini pack cereal", "Heinz Baked Beans" and other high branded expensive items. I asked why it was so brand specific and was told that the people using it didn't want any own-brand rubbish.... if we eat the "own brand rubbish" to maintain our budget I'm !!!!!!ed if I'm going to donate a dearer brand than we're eating. Since then we've donated childrens books to the library for their Christmas appeal (they give them to kids without books) instead.
What a blooming cheek  If they take that attitude people will not give. As you say if value brand is good enough for oser's then it is good enough for food banks . Beggars can't be choosers, it sounds harsh, but that is all there is to it.

Mrs Veg Plot? Why have you thanked every single posters posts today but not thanked any of mine? You know what everyone. It's time to hang up my MSE OS boots. Bullying via thanks button is getting beyond a joke.

I won't be logging back in now. Thanks for the help and support you have given me over time. :) Byeeeeeeeee

Well well, that was quite unexpected post..!!!..!!!!!! is going on, I didnt think there was any need for that really, a bit OTT , that sort of post gets peoples back up............Which it as done as 6 pages have passed this last night.........

I cant be arsed with arguing, most people on here use the thread to help each other, which it definately does, play ground stuff shouldnt be on this thread as we are adults................

If you have children at school and they come home and said " oh I dont like Fred Smith ", then a parent normally say " oh just ignore him", or dont tell tales, (well thats what id say), forget it and carry on.....Same as on here.................But we ARE all adults and this is not the playground...........

I use the thanks button mostly if a post is very informative, ie, if someone knows of a shortage coming/ someone having rotten luck/`health issues/ that sort of thing, I dont normally use it if someone just wants to say ,"Oh im now going to the cs." sort of thing........

On to the terrible weather , well weve been having frosts at around 5 to 6 pm, then by the morning its raining..!!...No snow which is a blessing, its warmer today at 8 degrees.......

Ive just ordered some large lump house coal , dont like the thought of running out in December, I have got GCH but I do love my fire at night...........Catch you all later Sheila.......

No cake but have mince pies in the oven....with jam tarts going in shortly.
Wonder if our library has a childrens' books appeal? I've given all our unneeded books either to my nephews or the school xmas fair at the moment but worth bearing in mind for next year.

liver and onions mar, most men his age like that. Plus a good multi vitamin containing all the Bs esp 400 units of folic acid

    http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Folic-Acid-Deficiency-Anaemia.htm

he should be taking D as well as you

don`t mention iron to him and I wouldn`t give him iron on its own as it could be down to other factors like the folic acid. Liver/kale/broccoli etc

Eggs for his brekkie or lunch if he has porridge for breakfast along with some orange juice with vit C in it, and things like braising steak and dumplings with spring greens for dinner (one of my favorite meals). If you want to be sneaky Boots do a thing called Spatone. It's not cheap but they're little sachets of iron rich spa water (I've been to the place in Wales that it comes from). You can put it in the orange juice and I promise you that it doesn't change the taste. I used it when I was pregnant as I was determined to stay of iron supplements. It comes from a place called Trefriw Wells spa.

Mar:- Seconding the liver and onions. I don't like iron supplements for the same reason but lots of spinach and broccoli works for me. Oh and there is always a pint of that dark Irish drink. (I can't spell it :))It's supposed to be very rich in iron. I used to drink shandys made with stout when I was pregnant...long before they decided pate, eggs, drink etc were bad for you.:D
