Pippydee:- Welcome aboard, it sounds like you have a very full and busy household. Pull up a chair and pour a cup of something, cake is optional depending on your stress levels. :rotfl:

Jem:- You rant away pet, dealing with families can be so frustrating sometimes. It sounds like your op is soon, so just sending a hug and a good luck to you.:grouphug: Sorry couldn't find a good luck one you will have to have a kiss instead

Please, please don't anyone stop posting - especially over the thanks button. I don't thank everyone, only because I have nothing to add over the thread item. I often just thank posters who have made a point I agree with or just to say thank you for their advice.

Sunshine- hugs for you, such a shock.

Can't believe the attitude of some food banks & the blinkered approach of some people.

I've been trying to get my freezer stash down but not having much luck. Bought a chicken in Mr M's & went to use it yesterday & it was GREEN (yes- I'd kept it in the bottom of my fridge exactly as prescribed) it was 4.15pm so thought I'd have to dash to the local Coop as they're open to 10 - then thought there must be someone still at Mr M's clearing up & a lovely lady let me in and a young lad went & got me another chicken - bless em both!
    So ........ 2 x Chicken & Mushroom pies , 2 x Leek & Popato soup & 1 x Rhubarb & Ginger pud to go in the freezer - Arrrgh!!!!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Kittie thanks so much for the delia linkie :D

MrsL don't you dare stop posting woman you keep me smiling!! What would we do without Dockys musings????

    ll XXXX

my pleasure re the delia link. I found what looks like a very tasty (also very cheap) dal recipe. I have just put it on now and will cool and leave flavours to blend for tomorrow

Mrs LW I am absolutely counting on you to help me through the stickie out, straggly mop stage. I am getting the ends trimmed tomorrow but am not making another appointment for next session, like I normally do. I feel much more comfortable in my hair already but can`t let the appointment go again cos it will need a bit of a tidy up from time to time and I don`t want to be blacklisted. Eggshells be dammed

Oh, Sunshine, I am so very sorry to hear about your brother. That is very sad news. When I light my candle tonight I will say a wee prayer for you and for your brother's family. xxx

Mrs Lurcherwalker, please don't go. I will get Docky withdrawal symptoms.

Please can you all stop talking about cake? You are making me want to eat nothing else! :D

Bruno is doing OK. I am off to the vet's in a minute to pick up some anti-nausea tablets for him. He seems to want to eat but the minute he smells the food he turns away. He will only eat Bonios. Now I don't think this is a dastardly plot to get more than his share of Bonios, I think he is genuinely feeling sick and these don't smell to strong and are dry. I am hoping he will be able to manage the stairs soon as I am sleeping downstairs on an airbed with him and Tessy and it doesn't make for the best night's sleep in the world.

Has anyone heard from PAH? I hope she has recovered from her blip with the medication and is doing OK.

    ETA welcome Pippydee xx

    [/STRIKE] Sorry I couldn't resist :D

When my dogs are poorly I'll make them scrambled egg or weetabix (they love the really cheap stuff) with a little warmed milk.

  • Wow, thank you all for your kindness, I promise I will keep reading and always reply to a post or PM. I'm just going to have a little break from posting. I promise not to leave completely, how could I? you are all my friends and part of each and every day. You make me smile with you, sad for you when there are problems, celebrate when there are good things, it's too important to me to just walk away. Then there is Docky, he would never forgive me if I removed his musings on the world from him, so have the best christmas all of you and all your loved ones( including the furry ones!) and I'll keep up to speed every day, with you in spirit, Cheers and much love, Lyn and Docky xxxxx.

Funny thing about families...what's that saying? "You can choose your friends but not your relatives!"

I miss Mum and yes I'll admit I am often lonely even though I like my own company but as someone said...You can go to bed when you wish, go out when you wish, eat what you want, listen to the music or watch TV that you like. And yet it is nice to share with someone special.

But if there are problems in families that cannot be sorted, though sad, who needs that worry, angst, stress and bitterness...

I have to count my blessings, there may not be family or friends but in many ways I have been fortunate.

If anyone is having such troubles I hope that you find peace and a way to let it go...that's easier said then done I realise.
