    bbrrr very cold here tonight.
Have done my airport run and collected DH. He was down south seeing his parents.
Easy teas this week as the freezer is finally nearly empty and will be ready for the defrost and replenish.
Sandwich stuff in for my packed lunches. DD is coming to meet me for lunch on Tuesday though.
The shops were mobbed today. I went to B0ots and got the things I needed to buy. The German Market was looking busy. The weather is so lovely and sunny and crisp during the day. Last year I remember they had a lot of rain.
    Ok, off to bed now.
    Sleep tight all.

Fuddle that's very low at 400iu - you want a lot higher than that to see a difference. I thank people when I feel what they said is relevant, now I feel all self conscious about it because I never thought about it before lol.
Waiting for the snow here, lampost watching duty lol

I've never used horseradish at all, don't even know what it tastes like, have heard it's quite hot tho, might get some and give it a try for a change. Thanks!!

    Horseradish works well too ;)
  • Homerdog, if you find any fresh let me know, fancy a bash at growing it ;)
decided to take up crochet. picked up a cheap pack of wool and a hook at the christmas fair yesterday and have nearly finished a beret for whichever of the DD's it will fit :) will finish it tomorrow and start another one.
OS, had lots of no spend days recently to save a few pennies for christmas.
will be picking up tickets for the colleges panto tomorrow, it's aladdin and i reckon the girls will love it. its a performing arts college and the shows are usually brilliant apparently and at £3/£1.50 a ticket much better value than professional shows.

I have chickpeas soaking for a cheap and tasty chickpea and sweet potato curry for tea tomorrow and soup in the slow cooker for the girls dinner tomorrow. probably wont have cost much more than a pound to feed us all for the day! ( not counting DH as he gets fed in work).

I frequently forget the thanks button even exists, then when i remember i go back a couple of pages then realise i've missed far too many to go back and catch up.
So for everyone here thanks in both retrospect and advance ;) I love to read your posts and like to feel I occasionally contribute something worthwhile even though I don't always post often xxx

off to bed now ladies and gents, got to be up early to get girlies in school and get to training (2" off my waist in 2 weeks so it's definitely doing some good :j) night night, sleep tight xx

Evening all. Just a quick call to join in the 'thanks' debate. I hadn't really thought it could be used to bully people, so apologies if anyone has thought that I had deliberately not thanked them at any time.
I use the button to keep track of where I've read up to :o because I'm not always able to read every day so there will be a few days at a time that I haven't thanked, but please don't think I'm being nasty or anything. Sometimes my button doesn't thank even when I click it, so there are a few reasons why I may not appear to have thanked someone.
Fuddle - please keep posting - we are all trying to do our best, pet. Hope the job hunting goes well - your CV looks great.

I also use the thanks button for my own benefit to keep track of where I last read and also to kind of let people know I have read their post and appreicate their input - even if I don't agree with some comments - mostly I do but even in heated debates, I will thank all sides as I try and see everyone's point of view. I am the sort of person who can often see things from lots of angles and try to be fair - I know I don't always get it right but I try.

I sometimes forgot to thank completely or read lappy in bed in the dark (when DH wants light off) and can't see well enough to thank/post so will read and try and remember to thank the next day. Folks please don't read too much into all this thanks stuff - there are lots of valid reasons why people thank/don't thank - do we really even need a thanks button??

Its raining here too. Think we may all be coming down with some lurgy or other, not been feeling grand at all today and DGS wasnt too good when we took him home.

Good news though DGS has decided to speak :j:beer::T Im so happy I could cry, well I did a bit, he is 2 and 7 months and stopped talking about a year ago. He had one session with the speech therapist and must have thought 'Oh well better get on with it they obviously want my opinion':rotfl: He still does the sign language he taught himself and now talks to his Daddys laptop, he does number games on it  Right better not bore you all with it now :D

We had lamb shanks for tea, £1 each frozen off the local market and Oh my they were yummy. 2 did tea for 3 of us so must sort out the freezer tomorrow and make room for more.

I think that there is a danger we could all walk away if this continues, I feel like we are walking on egg shells, its something I never look at, I couldnt tell you how many people thank my posts if any.
At the moment I am on the laptop so its easy for me to thank so I usually do, but on the phone like someone else said I end up spamming all the posts and that is so much worse than not thanking I am sure.

The fact is we are all free to use the thanks button or not for whatever reason, I believe kittie said earlier this week she would not be using it any more.

As has been said before we lose alot in translation, how I imagine something sounds in my head may well be different to how it reads 200 miles away.
Sometimes we need to remember not to react immediately - rather to take a breath and think if a post could be read a different way.

I walk on egg shells in RL and my time with you all was always free from that stress, you grounded me and kept me sane. I would hate to lose that, you do all mean so much to me.
