Fuddle life is too short to worry about such stuff love. Haven't a clue who thanks me, I don't look, and no doubt I miss posts out sometimes by accident.0

Fuddle - it may be something simple but either way does it really matter - I hardly ever thank as I am usually on my phone so its complicated, but then again I dont even look at the thanks bit either.
You are really stressed at the moment and am sure in the calm light if day you will realise its unimportant in the whole scheme of things
Have just looked at my diary for this week and am feeling exhausted just reading it - why do schools feel the need to cram in so many different things to such a busy time, there is not one day when I do not have at least three different things on - how on earth working mums manage I have no idea. Worse if one of the kids fall ill, my whole house of cards will fall over
My first cook with the halogen was disappointing so I am going to have to do some more research into where I went wrong.0 -
Apols Fuddle did not realise I had missed thanking a post.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

Hope it's ok at work tomorrow missrlr.
Jem - how did your gingerbread house come out?
Fuddle - wishing you luck re the job. CV's sounding good!
Jazee and silvasalva - I also remember that far back too!
Mixed day here. Woke feeling a bit yucky/coldy but not too bad and plodded on half heartedly. Really need to get my finger out re Xmas but just can't seem to muster the energy. Oh well a while to go still and everything always seems to get done in time one way or the other. Will be fine.
We all went to our local horse and pony sanctuary today - a promised reward chosen by DS2 for completing a reward chart for getting ready nicely for school all week (helps him start his school day in the right frame of mind - he had a brilliant week last week after the truely awful one the previous one :j) It was lovely seeing the animals so well cared for - the place is run by volunteers and funded by donations. I don't know how they do it but they do. Definitely need wellies on - saw one family arrive with grandad in a pair of dressy shoes. :eek:I warned them how deep the muddy puddles were but they still carried on. Couldn't bear to look as they got near the stables.
Feel emotionally wobbly after a phone call from my sister. Don't know how much more I can take from them (extended family) really. Second weekend in a row of upsetting calls. Trying to calm down with a rare glass of wine and a box of cheapy "after dinner thins" but they are pretty vile (the chocs) so have abandoned them. Stripey cat is demanding lots of attention and a great distraction.
Enough waffling, hope you are all warm and cozy and relaxing

Me neither - it isn't the money, I just can't be BOTHERED. Bothered to think about what to buy, bothered to go and buy it and bothered to try and find somewhere to put the stuff that gets bought. Plus, I was going shopping with a friend tomorrow to make a start and now I can't as I have to cover for a colleague who has had a bereavement. I have been moaning all semester about not having much to do and now I am stupidly busy!! I am thinking there may be a lot of cinema vouchers bought this year! Which in itself is tricky as everyone has different companies where they live so i will have to trawl round them all to get people vouchers they can use.
Moan moan, grumble grumble - Bah Humbug!!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
As far as I can tell I have nearly finished present buying thankfully, I just have my dad who is a nightmare to buy for, my OH who I will pick stuff up for this week and two cousins who have everything money can buy twice!
The food shop will need doing nearer the time and am building up the none food, as I go, have done the pet food, have all the cleaning stuff etc, but we are hoping to paint the kitchen and dining room before hand so need to be organised and take advantage on OH days off.0 -

I thank rarely as I have an oversensitive touchpad on my mini-lappie, and I had so often reported someone as spam that I gave up doing it to every one. But I also didn't realise it could be misconstrued.
I donated to the food bank collecting at Sainsburys when I was in England - I heartily approve of non-specific lists of wants like "rice" and "tea-bags", so filled a basket with things and handed it over. I refused to donate to the one collecting locally here and made my thoughts known as to why: they were asking for specific things like "Kelloggs multi mini pack cereal", "Heinz Baked Beans" and other high branded expensive items. I asked why it was so brand specific and was told that the people using it didn't want any own-brand rubbish.... if we eat the "own brand rubbish" to maintain our budget I'm !!!!!!ed if I'm going to donate a dearer brand than we're eating. Since then we've donated childrens books to the library for their Christmas appeal (they give them to kids without books) instead.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
A teaspoonful of wholegrain mustard peps up mashed spuds nicely, add more or less according to your taste.Popperwell wrote: »Heavenleigh, Yes it was Tesco's perhaps it was a national appeal? I would like to think all of the food retailers would allow/back such an appeal. Now I know of it's existence perhaps I can give again. xx
McCulloch,
Thanks for the warning, it was the fact it was reduced that I treated myself, I have some venison burgers in the freezer for the same reason, so room in there for anything else now.
I like the idea of adding something to the mash, I will consider that for another time. Would adding garlic work? I have some of that in the house. I need to think of adding some spices etc...to my food store.0
