    :( nope, me neither

What about now? If not, I'm giving up!
  • FUDDLE pet, well done on your forbearance and tolerance in dealing with your parent. It is always difficult when you have no common ground and are poles apart isn't it? Have yourself a couple of cuppas and count the blessings that are your family and think how much you do love them, and the Alfie puppy too. Tomorrow as they say is another day entirely and I hope that it is one of the very best days you have ever had to make up for the difficulties of the last couple!!!!! You're a cracker kiddo, chin up and look the world in the eye and smile, it will make you feel better and hopefully scare the world into submission!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Yay! Thank goodness for that! I'm so not techy! :D
  • Lyn, he is a lovely cat and I feel so lucky to have him. We took him from a friend-of-a-friend who told us her son was allergic, but the mutual friend suspects it was really that she couldn't afford to keep him :( He is such a nice boy, and very handsome, I wonder how anyone could ever bear to part with him - I'm glad they did though!

thrifty, i can see it now, he's lovely :)
hi adorian x i normally get asked at work now...we're going to throw this out, can you use it?
loo roll tubes gat saved as seed starters, old video tapes get dismantled and the tape used as bird scarers at the lotty, all jars get reused for chutneys, all peeling go on the compost heap, egg shells get used as slug repellant, my girls use the big boxes to make puppet theatres, pirate ships, fairy castles.

when the big pans get holes in i take them home for my dad to use as planters...
i'm always looking for things to do with 'rubbish' now!

the cat is curled up on the sofa ignoring the fireworks, the dog is sat on the back of the sofa watching them out of the window. i've put extra bedding in with the rabbits, but don't think they'll be too worried.

I highly recommend charity shops when you've enough time to have a browse. Except for the odd panic interview buy, I've been wearing charity shop suits for the last *cough*6*cough* years. And I even got complimented on one the other day!

Hope all went well, anyway. Still catching up on this thread...should probably not post til I'm up to date. Oh well...

Hi THRIFTY - he is a lovely boy, and he's got the most beautiful eyes hasn't he? It must be so difficult to have to part with a loved pet because you can't afford to keep them. I was on the bus home the other day and an elderly couple were already on it when I got on and they had a really lovely old terrier with them. I was so very sad when they got off by our local RSPCA rehoming centre and the bus driver said 'It's just down that road' and pointed. It was as much as I could do not to get off and offer to take him home with me, but we've already got the Dockling and it wouldn't have been fair to him. I just hope he finds a new home really quickly but have my doubts in the financial times we find ourselves living through. Your boy is one of the lucky ones, enjoy him, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Oh KIDCAT - they are beautiful too, I'd love to have cats but He who knows is most definately a dog person. Thank you all for the piccies, it's lovely, Cheers Lyn x.

Mrs LW - maybe they were going to find him a friend? I hope so, I hate to think of an elderly couple having to give up their beloved pet
