big hug to the Dragon and Smiley.
Mardatha & 7 Wonder - oooh those chips are fab. And the fish? Serves two. Yum diddly um. 7 wonders - wondering where you are going to in Charlotte Sq. I'm also sure we must all pass each other in the street.
Off to have tea - pasta with tom sauce, bacon and mushrooms 39p salad and some crusty bread. The bacon was a pack of cooking bacon - opened it up and it was crammed full of lovely bacon rashers. last time it had big hunks hhmm maybe chunks or gammon and made fab pasta sauce and also soup.
Cold here tonight.
Keep warm and cosy all.
Candle lit and thoughts sending out to you all

7WW - how absolutely lovely to have such wonderful memories of your dad - he was one special man.

Halogen oven has arrived :j and duly named Robbie cos OH reckons he looks like a robot. BM has been relegated to the cupboard as I only do homemade bread about once a week and Robbie can sit on the worktop.
DD is disgusted that we have named him after every generic robot ever.
First meal cooked - it was faggots en croute from the butcher. They were mingingbut I don't think that was Robbie's fault. I shan't buy them again. DD's vegetable bake worked really well though.
I guess it will be a case of messing about and experimenting but as our big oven takes nearly 30 minutes just to get to temperature, this has got to be a saving. I wish the accompanying cookbook had been more "how to cook a chicken / jacket spud / frozen sausage roll" (or whatever) rather than an actual recipe book.
Smiley <<hugs>>I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Is a halogen oven the same as a Remoska (sp?)?

Can't remember whose dad did the Penquins at 91 but that is a lovely Nativity to keep (and I don't do Christmas so me saying that is something)
Need "Toughie" hugs please, waiting to see a Neuorologist (sp), they think I have the onset of MS(appointment is the end of January)
The Dragon, hugs to you.
I have had a dreadful morning. My dog Bruno had a stroke and I had to get him to the vet's. He is home now but very wobbly and distinctly unbalanced, his back legs are all over the place. He has regained the use of them and can totter in a straight line so I am hoping he will make a good recovery, as apparently there is nothing to be done but wait. It was an awful shock and I have spent the last four hours sobbing my heart out on and off. God knows how people cope when their children are seriously ill, I have been in bits just over my dog.Oh Smileyt, poor Bruno. Hoping that he will make a good recovery and soon be dragging you out into the park for further misadventures.
Been a bit of a day here, having found out that someone known to both SuperGran and myself is comatose in hospital after a traffic accident. And a hospital abroad, so we can't visit or even get much news. SG will add them to the intercessions prayers at her church, and I'll send healing vibes. Horrible.
Been staggering through the week in a tired condition but will have not much rest this weekend as very busy socially. My social life tends to be feast or famine and I've almost double-booked myself on Sunday but with a bit of fast footwork can make both occasions...............
Righty, better do some dishes as have made a vat of chilli and have finally cracked the right amount of chilli powder (1 heaping teaspoon to 500 g mince). Nice to be able to eat it without crying for once................:pEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Have an extra big one from me ***HUGS*** It might yet be something else and something easily treatable. Though I know from experience you'll just stew until you get there.
7WW, I got teary reading about your Dad. Any chance of a photo when you put up the Nativity?
So sorry to hear about Bruno Smileyt, my fingers are crossed for him.Righty, better do some dishes as have made a vat of chilli and have finally cracked the right amount of chilli powder (1 heaping teaspoon to 500 g mince). Nice to be able to eat it without crying for once................:p

Hope it doesn't hang around for too long Mar it's saying its a balmy 1degrees here on my greenhouse temp thing but it feels positively baltic tonight brr
I don't think we were forecast to have any over the weekend but the weather forecasts have been a bit dodgy over the last week from the BBC one day we were supposedly dry all day and it tipped down from dusk til dawn!
I'll check uksnow on twitter if they forecast any ahead its usually a great resource as you can see it heading your way live0 -
Dragon - Sending you lots of hugs. Hope you get good news soon. x
Smileyt - sorry to hear about your Bruno. We've never had a dog, but I can understand how they become one of the family. Lots of hugs to you too.
7WW - what a lovely memory to have about your Dad. You'll always have a bit of him with you every Christmas.
Today when I went to work this morning, the car said it was minus 2C. When I came home it said plus 1C. I think Winter is trying to push its way in. Don't seem to have had much of Autumn this year. At least we don't have snow yet. Sorry Mar, would you mind hanging on to it for a couple of days so I don't have to drive in it?2025 Fashion on the ration
