Decided to snip my roots to this recliner and go up to Edinburgh tonight on the bus to see the xmas lights & meet eldest son. Hoping the RV or the son will get me chips. Ahh the high life eh!

Chip shop chips are the best. Which chippy do you use in town? We tried the one in Broughton st and one down past the Sheraton. But can't beat one near where we live.

..... if you see a demented commuter racing past to the station with a big briefcase and wrapped up like a michelin man (woman sorry) against the cold then that'll be me :D

I've lost my Xmas tags as well! I bought some cheap 'real' ones, but I've gone and lost them. However, I still have my homemade ones from last years Xmas cards so they will have to do.
Started a bit of wrapping this morning, then got distracted by the dog and the houserabbit -who have to have everything done to their schedule or there's mayhem. So now I've temporarily stopped to have a cuppa and am debating whether to carry on with the wrapping or tackle some cards.
Had a look at some family cards the other day and the prices are just ridiculous £4 or so for a rubbish picture and rubbish words or no words at all! That would mean £24 for our lot. So I'm thinking I might have to get a bit creative and make some HM ones. This all means I will have saved/not have to find, just over £100 by not buying a real tree, holly wreaths or overpriced cards:D I don't feel mean really because HM always takes alot more effort & thought than just going out and buying.
We have a gorgeous holly tree in the front garden, it has a really nice shape and would make a nice outdoor Xmas tree, if I put a few lights on it. I keep looking at it and just can't decide whether to chop into it a bit for my holly wreaths or leave it alone and decorate it. There is some holly in the back garden but not as much. as I will probably need.
Well enough of this deliberation (excuse to sit here and do absolutely nothing:o) I'd better get back to some wrapping:)

Oh Dragon - big hugs coming your way throuth the ether, hope you get all the support you need.

7 Week Wonder - that story really should have had a tissue alert! How beautiful and what a wonderful set of memories - love the creativeness and the idea of the nativity scene being attended by 12 penguins.

Just got the appointment letter through for the kids next appt with the paediatrician - finally looks like things are back on track, just hope it doesn't take 4 months to get the reports this time - I will be having words about the stress and upset caused believe you me!

Got friends coming this afternoon to make cards and felt - really looking forward to it then DH and I are going out for dinner tonight - back to the restaurant that did our wedding meal to celebrate being married a month (well on Sunday, but they are not open then!) One of the promises we made each other was to make sure we spent more couple time and looked after ourselves and each other - so much of what we do is focused on the kids and families with special needs kids have a particularly high divorce rate so we wanted to be sure from the start that we made time for each other.

Hugs to anyone who needs one and stay warm and safe in this frosty weather - X

Hard to believe that some of us will probably pass each other in the street and never know. Nice actually, kind of like knowing there IS nice people out there.

  • Hugs to The Dragon.

Mardatha and UnixGirl - don't forget there are also the St Andrew's day celebrations up at the Castle this evening. I don't know what exactly is happening other than my friend's son is very excited as he has made a lantern for the lantern parade! I'll be the one heading along to Charlotte Square where I'm meeting OH for a drink.

I hope everyone's Friday is going ok.

    The Dragon, hugs to you.

I have had a dreadful morning. My dog Bruno had a stroke and I had to get him to the vet's. He is home now but very wobbly and distinctly unbalanced, his back legs are all over the place. He has regained the use of them and can totter in a straight line so I am hoping he will make a good recovery, as apparently there is nothing to be done but wait. It was an awful shock and I have spent the last four hours sobbing my heart out on and off. God knows how people cope when their children are seriously ill, I have been in bits just over my dog.

    The Dragon,
Hugs from me too, lets hope that they are wrong or if it is they can control it and it is a mild version...

Hugs to SmileyT and Bruno too, it just seems that something else has to come along and add to our woes.
