another edit: cayenne pepper is def helping circulation. No white fingers yesterday, although freezing wet hands under gardening gloves and dh commented on his legs feeling better when on the turbo. I find the loose powder hard but recently started taking one capsule a day and can feel the warmth in my gullet. Am taking some to dh as she gets white fingers too

Thanks for that Kittie: that's really quite spooky. I was going to ask for advice about circulation in my fingers, which have been really white and numb recently, but didn't want to break any rules about asking for or receiving medical advice. Can you remind me what capsules you are taking? And did I imagine it or did you post that you were using cayenne pepper in a hot drink?

I'm helping collect the massive order that my friend did from the wholefood wholesaler's later on today. I'm really excited as it is all stuff that I use regularly for baking and cooking and it was so much cheaper than the supermarkets.

Lisakay - thanks for asking - the funeral a couple of days ago was lovely. Quite poignant but lots of smiles and the man has such a terrifically strong family: to see his eldest daughter stand up and speak was amazing: I know I couldn't have done it.

Take care in the cold everyone.

PS I knew I'd forgotten something: people were talking about charities for the victims of the recent flooding - apparently a fund has been set up more info here.

It's not quite like that for me meme. I have followed users of old for a long time. I can sense that there is bad feeling and I wanted to know why. Meme, someone was unjustly rude. The rude person was breaking the rules and turned on the poster daring to suggest please don't do it.

Look this thread is full of lovely people. This board is full of lovely people. I cannot, no matter how hard I try, keep every body happy and yes I will admit that I dare not thank the old toughies in case I upset the current ones... why? What has happened?

I'm taking a break because the atmosphere on here is really bad. I feel in the middle, can see everyone's point of view but sadly not everyone can see others. I want to keep everybody happy and I would like the tough thread back of old. Non of that is going to happen sadly.

Fuddle it is not your job to keep people on this board happy! It is all of our responsibility to think before we post and also think' would I say that to a stranger in the street? Would I seriously say that ? in that tone?'
There is a lot to be said for 'if you can't say something nice then say nothing'

Re the thanks button - I just hit it if I agree with what the person has said LOL!
Good post meme and YES this thread is a lifeline and maybe life saver, along with the rest of this amazing forum.
Thanks VJmum that's erm.... interesting EEK!! but I think true.
Kittie, probly Hannah did her hair that way because she couldn't get to or afford a hairdresser. I have her dvds and book here and when her pic was first taken it says she was 46!! She looks 76 with her hard life, poor soul. But I greatly admire her dignity and calmness.
I'm slighty ratty this morning, think the RV is getting to me. I told him about the "cut down your elect" thread in this forum and god do I regret it :D
He hovers around the meter with a notebook and pencil and screams if I put a light on. The new f/freezer uses more than the old one (which we knew fine it would cos its bigger) and he went into meltdown when he found we had used a massive 6 units yesterday
Re adult kids and digs, to the OP on this - my daughter had a nightmare with her daughter when she was 19, ended up she left the house & got a wee flat. It lasted 3 months, and she was begging her mum to take her back home. Ever since then she has paid digs with no argument!
Show the kids ads in the local paper for flats to let and let them see the rents asked, explain they would have CT on top and food and elect and and.

Its such a hard choice when shopping isn't it do you support the local shops and pay through the nose or shop online and save a bomb but see shops such as this go under...

That is what I say to my children now Mar! A very good rule to follow.
Now, advice please. I have my sister, husband and 2 little boys (littlest is 17 months) coming to stay soon, sister is veggie. What do you reckon would be good OS veggie meals which would also suit 4 children of varying ages - hers are little so a bit fussy. Can't be anything TOO veggie ie nothing beany, no tofu etc. Must be filling but cheap. My kids will eat carrots, broccoli etc but not cabbage, squash or onions, hers change what they will and won't eat as littlies do. DH has a major aversion to mushrooms. Will need 3 dinners I think. One could be HM pizza as I still have *ahem* rather a lot of pizza mix.

Here maybe this will help. I'm as guilty as charged as to wanting a great bargain, but I saw this the other day and it did pull me up short a bit ;)

I order two and don`t pay tax, if in doubt then order one. Don`t add anything else to two or you`ll have have to pay. Normal p and p is $6 I think but I got these on the three day one for only $12, I wanted to get using them asap because it isn`t easy drinking cayenne. Drink is 1/8tsp with lemon and honey in hot water but it was ok when sinuses were bad and I couldn`t taste it. Dh and I take just one a day

Just having a quick skim as am sitting here with wet hair ready to go. Not doing the thanks button is killing but I`m going to try hard

added: had 1/2 of buttenut soup left yesterday, made a risotto thanks to nigel s, was excellent. Normal amount of rice sauteed in butter with few bits of sage. Then added hot soup a bit a time and stirred for a good 20 mins. Stirred in parmesan to finish. Was a real nice comfort meal in a bowl

Given the weather, leek broth and dumplings? Cauliflower cheese with potato wedges and veg?
