Fuddle, I don't know if you will have internet at the new house but if you do you could plug the tv into the laptop and watch it until you get an aerial installed....or maybe buy a cheap aerial to use indoors till you get it sorted. That way you would not need a bracket for the tv immediately. Just a suggestion.

Could you change to TalkTalk as they are offering some kind of deal where you get your TV via the internet(I think)as 2Tonsils suggests and you get a free box to do this, telephone and internet too but I don't know enough about it, I still think from what you say you own the dish and box so can take it with you...

Would the local trading standards be able to answer your concern?

Fuddle - DH could try ringing sky back and say you've reconsidered and decided to keep sky when you move - they may well just cancel the cancellation IYSWIM! Too right the box is yours, apart from anything else if next tenants want sky they will get a new box when they sign up (if new sign up) or will be bringing their own with them (if had sky at previous place

When you cancel, Sky have been known to phone up to 60 days afterwards to try and persuade you to stay and sometimes give you some kind of deal like 6 months of free viewing. They will be happy to keep you and if you are paying in advance they have been known to leave Sky awitched on for some weeks/months. Another good idea from Stiltwalker.

Bother posted a big post earlier and then it disappeared.

Kittie - I think you definitely need to tell the hairdresser, you could maybe drop in when its quiet or at closing time?

Fuddle - new tenants would get a new box from sky so leaving it simply means your LL can sell it, the box is yours and you could sell it yourself if you are signing up as a new customer. Alternatively as someone has said you could say you made a mistake and would like a house move instead - be warned though that its better to book sooner than later, as nearer Christmas the wait is much longer.

I've got the trendy greying pixie - but its ash blonde now . I like mine short but agree that too short is not nice. All my life I dyed my hair, mostly black as I love black hair, but sometimes blond and red too. I quite like having it light now cos I have discovered hair mascara ;) You get lilac and pink and blue and green :D

SavingQueen - I have a similar problem with getting boots to fit my calves. I have had 3 pairs of wellies now from FiftyPlus and they're really comfortable and I can tuck my trousers inside if the water/snow is too deep.
DH has been checking the garden for flooding. The water gathers in the patio and a couple of times this year we've almost had water in the house so we made a barrier around the house - a small solid fence - so hopefully it should help a bit. It was tested a couple of times and seems to work. Here's hoping!
I've got my Christmas cake in the oven and made myself resist looking in by doing washing, paying bills online, getting the bank account book up to date and hunting out the Christmas cards bag. What an exciting life I lead :D

There's sections of motorway A1 and A19 underwater, the back roads all over the place are flooded. I don't know when DH will be home tonight, he doesn't even know how because every route he has planned there are sections closed and stopping him. The idiot has took his winter box out of the boot and is residing in the garage! I could swing for 'im. That's my peace of mind. Police are advising essential journeys only. Our turn I guess.

fuddle - sending you lots of hugs, pet. He'll be fine and when he gets home he'll be wondering why you were worried!

I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I was in a hairdressers chair, but it must have been a good 10-12 years ago.

I can't get the white bits to dye at home any more, it washes out after just one wash, so I'm resorting to an expert. I'm not getting it covered, hopefully blended in, so I don't look like a badger. Badgers are cute don't get me wrong. I just don't want to look like one!

My friend up the road (the one who nearly flooded) has put me in touch with the woman who does her hair, she works from home, not out of a shop, and she's been doing similar coverage on my friend, I've been washing it in head and shoulders for weeks, to strip as much colour out as possible, as instructed by this hairdresser!

I've a collection of pictures of hair I like to take with me...lots of them involve pink and blue streaks :)

Which reminds me DAMN...I didn't go to the bank. I am paying for this out of my moneybox, and I didn't really want to hand over a large number of £1 dragon coins!!! Hope I get time after the market!!! :rotfl:

I had long black hair until I touched my forties and said NO im not having long black hair at "that age"..................

So it wnet short, short,!! fror quite a few year , and now its shoulder lenght in brown chestnut colour, but I never wear my hair down , its always put up in a scrunchie on top of my head, funny that to have shoulder lenght hair and always put it up......

To me it never look right having jet black hair when your older, because we all know when you age it goes lighter so therefore it makes your wrinkles show up , and your face look so pale...:eek:................

But each to their own taste..................

Weather, well over night it was torrential rain, then the sun has been out all day......I fell asleep this arvo for 2 hours, if it wasnt for the phone ringing I maybe still flat out...........Woke up rushed about getting tea prepared, had shower , and lit the fire.......Sheila.
