How do you make yourself sleep?
I have been awake since 2 and this is the third time I have tried to get a couple of hours in the hope I can go to bed at a normal time and sleep through to a normal time. I know the lappy doesn't help but nothing else works either.
My lovely DD is unpacking the shopping though as I just am too weary to do it. Shall try again in a sec.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

I have trouble sleeping as well VJsmum, I am a great believer in routine i.e. if I go to bed too late I don't sleep. I find (although this is my second home) that being on the laptop last thing keeps my mind active. I find reading a book or magazine works well for me as does a relaxation technique I learned many years ago. You relax every part of your body starting from my toes working up, it helps me get off to sleep. I still have problems with staying asleep through the night though. If I only wake once or twice I'm doing well.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
GO TO THE DOCTOR?????:eek::eek::eek: Are you mad? It's years since I visited a doctor and that was only for a rash on my arm.
I will take what you are all saying very seriously though and if it doesn't clear up over the weekend I will make an appointment next week. Promise. In the meantime I am glugging away at glass after glass of water. Honestly, my tonsils are floating.
Byatt are you allowing Fuddle to think that her elders could ever, possibly be wrong? Of course your elders are always 100% right, and even when they're wrong, they're right. I don't have many elders so am claiming the right to be infallible. Like the Pope. Or something.
Right. I must go and trawl Amazon and see what's on offer. I may be gone some time.
Lots of soft, woolly hugs for all of you who need one.

I wonder monnagran, if you're our elder here. It's crazy to me that you're 73. I don't beliiiiiiiiiiiiiiive it!
Photobucket? What bit can't you fathom? I'll help you
Mardatha your fuds is spot on. It is lathery enough but not too lathery for the face, slides around the skin brilliantly, I don't feel the need to moisturise afterwards and my face feels smoothe to touch when it's dry.. and it smells yummyGot yourself a great little face soap there and a happy little customer
Please don't feel the need to call it fuds though, feel free to call it anything you please, it's more than alright.

me too monnagran, I make every effort to heal myself and def avoid antibiotics. The body does naturally want to heal and will do provided the causation is removed or dealt with. I was overdosed on antibiotics as a child so am now allergic to penicillins anyway. I haven`t been to the doc for almost 20 years but I use other wholistic methodstrained for 4 years on a respected alternative and am fully armed to cope with most stuff and successfully too. However I often wonder who would see to me in an accident and am very pleased to see that village council are doing free first aid courses lasting several hours, so that we all have local responders. Am very happy to say that dh is very keen to sign up
:)
Hanging washing was a complete waste of time, dull and still all day so now draped in the house. Dh came back from a bike ride and says that all lanes around are still bad. Neighbour came back from s wales last night and had a nightmare drive. They took the one flat road that goes through flat peaty fields that are full of ditches and drains for the local rivers. It was pitch black and the ditches and fields were full and covering the silent empty lanes through there. They could not see the tarmac at all and had to inch along. No houses, nothing to help. No fences either as all barriers are ditches
Oh well, I thought that way in might be ok and ealier made a sm order for tomorrow but am now 99% sure they won`t make it. Doh0 -
I'm an expert at being wrong!!! also expert at putting on the face that says don't ask, you know already, after all this is me we're dealing with here!!! Good job they're used to me. It's the biggest reason I miss my Dad, I could always phone him and say 'You'll never guess what I've just done' and he would always say 'Go on, try me, it is you after all!' then we would both cry laughing, bless him, he was fun !!! Nice memories folks, happy ones, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

I miss Mrs Chip
Glad that worked fuddle.
Kittie and Monnagran, I've joined you. I am not going back to the doc ever again unless I'm in imminent danger of falling off my perch/turning blue round the gills. He can never find anything wrong with me anyway so I might as well feel like a dying slug in the comfort of me own home instead of in his waiting room.
I do like herbs and simple eating anyway which will do me. Got "The Sugar Addicts Diet" today and think I am one - but not as bad as some because I don't take sugar in tea and dont drink fizzy juice and dont eat breakfast cereal or biscuits. So I'm feeling dead smug.0 -
well i was going to post something insightful and profound, but both girls clamouring to use the computer to do more homework.
so instead just offering hugs to all, because hugs are the best present of all, one size fits all, very easy to return and best of all they're freefreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
I'm fed up and pee'd off. My brain isn't functioning well enough for me to work out how to decrease the right side of the cardi I'm knitting, the rest of the family is ignoring me as normal and I'm coughing enough to discourage me from going out the house tonight. I know how lucky I am that it's only a cold, but I had lots of plans for this week and none of them have happened. I just want to get out of the house and do something that doesn't involve a trip to Mr Ts.
I know that I'm a grumpy, moody cow when I'm ill and get worse as I get better. The three weeks I had Influenza B a few years ago spring to mind.
I'm going to go and work out what to feed everyone and might even make pudding.
Take care everyone and sorry for the whinge xxx0
