  • morning all,

hugs all round by the sounds of things especially kidcat, byatt and jem. have been reading posts but usually late in bed so haven't been able to comment or press thanks (can't see the keyboard with the light off for DH)

hanging in with this week - had a very good/long chat with DS2's learning mentor, she is an absolute star and a long coffee morning with my brilliant friend who has a son with many complex special needs and we cried together in a supermarket cafe. The housework had to wait, I was in too much of a state to concentrate. DH & I are meeting with the head this afternoon to discuss DS, bit nervous at what he will say but keen to hear it at the same time if that makes sense.

also touched base with the friend who upset me and we are getting there - I have got over the upset and forgiven her - we all gave tough times after all and we said we will get together for a cuppa next week and have a proper chat. Another friend, a young mum at the school with 4 young children, whom I've taken under my older mum wing caught me yesterday after school and said I'm not looking my usual cheery self. I confided in her about DS2's problems and had another little cry. She was ace too.

better go, DH coming down and we need to get cracking with stuff

back later to see how you are all doing

    sq:)

Morning all from a sunny island. I wanted to spend today in a whirl of activity but have been suffering from a bout of cystitis which I do get at at very infrequent times. Usually a couple of days taking something from B**ts sees it off, but this time it hasn't. Am tempted to take it for another couple of days in spite of the dire warnings on the packet because I really can't get on with things. We'll see.

Am being called for coffee, be back later.

monnagran, get yourself to the doctors woman! Don't mess around with your insides. Who cares if you can't get on with things - now is not a time to suck it and see. There's people who need you, look after yourself ;) x

savingqueen you have some good, good friends. Don't you find it's the not knowing that is the worst? Once you know things you can empower yourself and in turn cope and deal with what comes your way ;) x

Jem hope all goes well today X

Hope everyone has managed to stay safe and dry just watching the news and its terrible in some parts :(

I have some exciting news I just had to share :j

My son's school (DS2) is getting a special visit on Monday from Prince Charles,Jamie Oliver (!!),Hugh Fearnley W and possibly Mary Berry whoop!

Charlie and Jamie and Hugh have confirmed so far, they had Giles Coren there last week too.

Bad news is they've banned the kids/parents from stalking for autographs I'd have loved Jamie to have signed DS3's 15 minute meals for chrimbo..and security is going to be very tight for obvious reasons..*I told my son its cos of Jamie and Hugh lol*
Such a shame so close and yet so far,DS3 is an avid fan of all 3 and DS2 has been unfazed by all the fuss

You know what I'd do? I'd call JO's office and tell them that the school have banned asking for autographs, and tell them that DS is gutted because he wanted to get book signed for his brother's pressie, ask if they could send him one to stick in the book?

I'm sure JO would be made up that young cooks were getting his books for xmas....

probiotics, magic!! at first sign, drink a small cup of very strong black coffee (diuretic) then plenty of water after about half an hour. Ladies, wipe always front to back ;)

    Hi all!!

    Oo sparkly new thread!

    Hope everyones well x
Sorry i haven't the thread but i will try and catch up later with you all x

Well its a bit of run around in our house, what with building work still going on. Constant appointments for ds2, luckily its slowed down a bit now. Battling with ds1, his hormones are in overdrive and its doing my head in.
OH is doing his usual, snappy in the mornings and sick of doing the bathroom, but soon it will be done.

I honestly couldn't face coming on and chatting with you all, so sorry for not being supportive and being there.
I decided to admit defeat and went to the docs and asked for some anti-depressants. I've battled with depression since i was primary school and been on various medicines. But i rejected them all when i was 16 and pregnant with my first child.
Now i'm at the point where its becoming to much for me what with stress so now i'm on a very mild dosage. I've been on them a week and not niticed a change yet so who knows.

On the plus side the same gp has put me forward for steroid injections in both of my knees as they swelled so much i could n't put my jeans on. Hopefully they will reduce the swelling and ease the pain.

Also just found out that my son has been granted an educational statement!!!! Been trying for years and now we have one :j:j:j:j So now the school HAVE to help him yay!

right i'm off to have a coffee and have a meeting with the school. Wish me luck!

Monnagran - sorry but if its been more than a couple of days you need to get some help, DD18 ignored it last year and ended up in hospital, now she is battling infections almost weekly.

Byatt- I get it, and its completely different to parenting an NT child as the normal rules dont apply, ((hugs))

savingqueen - so glad you have been able to talk in RL to people, it does help, it may be worth you asking if there are any parent support groups in your area, they can be a wealth of information and just general support from people who have been through it themselves.

Fuddle - make sure you have a good length of prescription before you move, as a change of doctors can be very slow add in Christmas and expect snail pace!

D&DD - am so jealous, well about the JO and HFW, possibly even Mary Berry. I agree contacting their office may get you an autograph.

DS8 has woken still with sore throat and aching but otherwise fine thankfully. I however have woken feeling like I had an argument with a truck, managed the school runs and then did the shopping, have just taken some painkillers and will have a quick nap until this migraine passes. OH is off today so can watch the boys.

What do statements = ? More money. Isn't it disgusting that we have to fight for appropriate inclusion. I've had it too. My eldest was labelled gifted and talented 3 years ago. She was given so much more help to really push her on with her literacy and reading... then all of a sudden she's no longer got her label and the extra teaching she was getting was withdrawn. No reason, I believe, than money saving. When she got Level 3's in her Year 2 SAT's I should have been so pleased for DD, but what I was was cross because the school had gained their precious grading through my DD when she could be excelling more than what she is, she could have been working at a level that is much more appropriate to her needs not just the same as everyone else. Anyway, shes happy and I'm pleased she's doing ok. I'm not a pushy mam.

Mar soap hass arrived :D I shall try out fuds tonight ;) Can't wait for a face wash now. I'll let you know
