Mooorrrrrnnnniiiiinnnnggggg
First pint of tea down the hatch and i'm raring to go....
Actually I am still sat in bed but I will be raring to go in a minute. It was a relief to wake up from my dream - I had no idea how I was going to catch that flight in time, and the yoga teacher was keeping me behind to fill in forms..:rotfl: Nice to see Brad Pitt on the baseball pitch though.
DD and I are off to see Blood Brothers this evening. I am hoping my Mr T vouchers arrive today to pay for us to eat out before hand. We will be having a little browsette of the shops beforehand too. I haven't bought many clothes this year and those I have are a little more expensive but better quality so I am looking for another jumper to wear with my new White Stuff skirt (bought with 15% off and a £25 voucher so didn't cost much - I have another 15% off voucher too), I have lately rediscovered my legs and reckon I haven't got much longer where they will be fit to be seen so am making the most of it.
Before that, though, I have 2 dissertations to mark and maybe today will be the day that DS bedroom gets done. The kitchen is a bombsite too but I think that is tomorrow's task. Hmm, Better get up then
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ugh. I dropped a jar of chopped garlic on the floor yesterday and now I'm not sure if its the bin or the floor which stinks. How pleasant. I'd much rather have been dreaming about Brad Pitt ...0

Good morning all,
Pops glad you put your heating on. It sounds daft saying "well done" but will say it anyway! Probably missed previous posts but could you try and change your sleeping patterns at all - so you are in bed when it is coldest? Also you would miss some of the difficult evening times if you were asleep for at least part of it. Problems can seem worse in the quiet of night time and maybe being up for more of the day time will help with that.
When I have had low patch (and had some very low ones in the past) I find making a small, achievable list of things to do helps - even stuff like: get dressed before lunch, have some soup for lunch, do the washing up, do something nice (like a walk, read a book or whatever) and eat again in the evening could be a day's list if it's a difficult day.
I have endured several long periods of insomnia in the past so empathise is that's the problem but I know if you can somehow stick to the same routines/times going to bed and getting up, it helps your body clock get back into sync (can take a while to happen though.)
Despite being really tired yesterday, going to bed late and having the chance of a lie-in, I still woke up at 6.30am as usual. I tried to go back to sleep for an hour then gave in and got up. Also on the rare occasions the kids sleep past 6.30, they tend to wake up if DH or I do, so wanted to let them sleep as out for the fireworks tonight. Think I might have to be naughty and try and have a nap this afternoon.
Had a wonderfully crazy/crazily wonderful day with my 2 boys, my friend and her son. The train, tubes and Science Museum were chock-a-block. DS1 got upset over some stuffed animals that appeared randomly in some displays especially the sheep and cat. DS2 had a mini strop (friend's son had hurt him - he is a very big child who "uses" his weight to push in etc, a bit spoilt and I think has additional needs but friend is in denial). Managed to calm eveything down and other than that a fun day.
We came out to find the all 3 entrances to South Kensington tube shut down without explaination so I led the way to what I thought was Sloane Square but was in fact Knightsbridge tube. We went past Harrods, the window displays were spectular, each one a different fairy tale scene. Its a different world there brushing past people with wealth oozing from every pore and me with my charity shop tops, old jeans, trainers and 25 year old rucksack. My friend had a fitted coat, wool dress, heeled boots and salon false eyelashes and pulled a posh trolley with their lunch in as "rucksacks crease my clothes". We are like chalk and cheese in that respect. She's great - a lovely, happy, chatty, crazy and enthusiastic person bubbling with life and clueless about money, good job she has plenty to waste!
On the train DS2's squidgy ball bought from the gift shop (a rare treat as usually bypass the giftshops but felt mean as friend spent £15 on her son) exploded everywhere - flourescent green goo all over his clothes and I bet it doesn't wash off  Thank goodness for babywipes and spare carrier bag.
right enough rambling, gonna have another cuppa then need to tackle the dishes and get dressed. Need to go and buy another pair of PE shorts, DS1 seems to loose his every half term.
have a good Saturday everyone

I think that I feel much more positive this morning, more in tune with things...and have more to aim for...and being wise. I am able to do more by being careful.
So no bleating from me. I had my wobble last night but feel much better today. And am very appreciative of the kindness shown. I have slept well and was cosy.

Not long before losing Mum I managed to smash a jar of something like Uncle Ben's sauce on the Kitchen floor, it did not smell as such but it is difficult to clear up mainly because of the glass and when you have vynal tiles they get scratched etc...I can imagine the problems the smell is causing you...
Thanks SQ for the continued support and ideas(all make sense to me)lovely to hear of your day out. Such a treat probably means so much more because of your normal situation. Enjoy your day ahead...
I will continue to tidy up the house, it gives me an incentive. I may have a look out later just for the fresh air but it is not very nice, a bit foggy and damp."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

At least you will keep the vampires away Possession!

Morning all
SQ - glad you had a nice day in London. I'm itching to go see the Harrods Christmas departments. Am taking DDs and their boyfriends for a Christmas day out at the beginning of December, a bit of Harrods browsing, ice skating at the London eye and a wander through the Christmas market on the South Bank. Can't wait.
Possession - Blugh to the garlic smell. I made coleslaw last night and someone scraped their plate into the bin rather than the compost caddy (which has a charcoal filter in so no smells), the whole kitchen stinks of slightly tangy coleslaw, it's not nice.
VJs - I had a night of really disturbing dreams so was very happy to wake up (even if it was 5am) Brad Pitt would have been a welcome addition.
£50 win on the bonds this morning, yay! Earmarked for a mortgage OP along with last months win, all these little bits add up.
2 loads of washing dried infront of the fire embers last night, double spinning the clothes when drying indoors really helps and saves using the tumble drier. I've not had my heating on yet and there's no radiators in strategic positions for drying so this method works well for us.
Damp and drizzly here again today, DH is full of my cold and looks washed out so a quiet day with some baking and sewing I think."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Where could I see Harrods window display? I tried the website and its not there. I always wanted to come to London just to see Harrods, and I would buy some cheap things to get their carrier bags to take home lol!0
