I have been sorting some info for my dd as she appears to be getting bout after bout of sinusitis. I do bite my tongue a lot of the time but I can`t sit back and let her learn for herself lol I do take care to give one bit of info at a time though. Chronic sinusitis can have various causes, not just colds and one major source is unhappy gut flora ie not working in harmony caused by eg stress, antibiotics etc so probiotics are the answer on a daily basis and easiest is actimel, yakult etc. I take probiotics from lamberts healthcare but there are others. Food sensitivities, allergies, candida all thrive on disrupted gut flora and all can produce sinusitis symptoms. Once flora starts to repair then runny catarrh will occur and will be copious for a while
Also magnesium is essential ie in nuts, seeds, brown grains and also absorbed through skin by a nice soak in a bath containing 2 cups of epsom salts. I have ordered epsom salts from amazon. There is a book about mg on amazon and there is a good bit to read on preview. 3 of these warm soaking (os) baths a week and sleep will come naturally. I remember my mother having epsom salt baths

HB, the above and vit c also minimum meat to make digestion easier and reduce blood acidity. Lots of warm or hot thin herby drinks and manuka honey if you can
Thanks for this - i have sinus issues and reflux. I am ashamed as I am usually up on these things but, in this case, wasn't aware of the link.Oh dear, I just watched the JL ad and it didn't do a thing for me!
Nor meIS that the one that was £6 million? They should've given it to me! I'd have made better use of it.
Really afraid my dicky throat and swollen gland are going to turn into tonsilitis, though no nodes yet. I am getting thing after thing this year. But then it has to be one of my busiest years ever, with all this travelling.:oI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Thanks for this. I have nearly constant inflammed sinuses (no mucus, just pain and sickly feeling and regular nosebleeds. I already take a pre and probiotic supplement to keep my thrush at bay but have ordered some epsom salts to try. Might help with my general eugh feelings too with any luck.0 -

Shegar - Pops was referring to his blog I believe.
I know I have stopped mine mainly due to time - I dont have any! but a friend still blogs regularly and the abusive posts are ridiculous, nobody makes you read someones blog, if you dont like it just dont read surely. I stopped reading her blog ages got so upset that people were so downright rude.

Yes, I was talking about my blog, as Tawney was about hers, nothing else...thanks Kidcat and Haribo."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Gaily I know what you mean about people's attitude towards us mams who don't run a second car. It's not all cruel to walk our children a mile and back to school, I don't think. I think that's normal.
Tonight is DD's parents evening. We had a choice of what slots we could tick in order to get our final times back. I had an incling that many of the mams who drove would choose the slots straight after school for ease because they are already there picking their children up, whereas I actually needed that slot. I added on my form why I needed the earliest slot but was loathed to do it. I manage and I dont grumble.
My legs never make me late for pick up's
More sorting on the cards today. We seem to have filled this house with carp. I have no meat left in the freezer so need to do a little shop.
I'm a bit worried about the predicted snowfall etc around the time when we're going to move. I'm running my stocks right down at a time when I'm really going to need them.0 -

DS is panicking about not getting in to sixth form, trying not to laugh as "I'm not going to sixth form I want to go to college" seems to have gone out the window

Probiotics work amazingly well re reflux, as I personally can testify. I remember going to the doc about 30 years ago with constant cough, particularly night time. Had no good response so I took my own health into my hands and started with raising the head of the bed and changing my diet, particularly stopping my evening treat of chocolate and completely stopping all fizzy drinks of any sort. It can quickly come back even now, if I am careless so I never go out without 2 gaviscon in my bag and I have DGL licorice in my bedside table, just in case my tum feels `fizzy` when I go to bed. My regime works very well for me and I rarely have to use the gaviscon but feel re-assured that it is always handy.
The more I learnt about pharmacy and side effects (one of my set books http://www.merckbooks.com/mmanual/reviews.html ) the more I became determined to learn healing by holistic methods and often it does mean changing lifestyle. No point in using a sticking plaster method when the causation stays in place, causation needs to be fixed first0
