    Delurking again :D

Kittie, my DD is often sinussy and chesty, she's only little but is very, er, mucousy. She also had milk intolerance as an infant, which thankfully she seems to be growing out of. However, the dietician mentioned the two were likely to be connected. I noticed it picked up a notch when we started following the program to reintroduce dairy.

Might be worth trying to cut down on dairy to see if that helps? Just a thought...

DS got quite upset during the JL advert Sat night, he kept saying "Why is he sad, why is he sad?" Bit of a softy is DS. When DD was a baby, I left him downstairs for a minute while changing her nappy, watching Beauty and the Beast. When I came down he was crying his little heart out on the floor cos he thought the Beast had died (he'd changed back to the Prince).

I have been sorting some info for my dd as she appears to be getting bout after bout of sinusitis. I do bite my tongue a lot of the time but I can`t sit back and let her learn for herself lol I do take care to give one bit of info at a time though. Chronic sinusitis can have various causes, not just colds and one major source is unhappy gut flora ie not working in harmony caused by eg stress, antibiotics etc so probiotics are the answer on a daily basis and easiest is actimel, yakult etc. I take probiotics from lamberts healthcare but there are others. Food sensitivities, allergies, candida all thrive on disrupted gut flora and all can produce sinusitis symptoms. Once flora starts to repair then runny catarrh will occur and will be copious for a while

Also magnesium is essential ie in nuts, seeds, brown grains and also absorbed through skin by a nice soak in a bath containing 2 cups of epsom salts. I have ordered epsom salts from amazon. There is a book about mg on amazon and there is a good bit to read on preview. 3 of these warm soaking (os) baths a week and sleep will come naturally. I remember my mother having epsom salt baths

HB, the above and vit c also minimum meat to make digestion easier and reduce blood acidity. Lots of warm or hot thin herby drinks and manuka honey if you can :)

Thanks Kittie but I'm not too mucusy. Just headachey, tired and a sore chest. From what I picked up from others mentioning your other post it held advice for something like that but I still can't find it. Off for another look. :)

It would be quicker to say what I'm not cooking fuddle!! Today I've done a cassoulet, shepherd's pie, baked gammon, choc chip cookies, sticky toffee pud, veggie soup and lemon and poppyseed muffins. Also turned the last of the garden raspberries into jam and made some hot chilli jelly. :D All cooling now and ready for the freezer so am putting my feet up in front of the fire for the rest of the night. ;)
  • Sorry Fuddle you misunderstood - I meant that they can't charge interest if you don't owe anything ( hope I didn't upset you )

Oooh SOftstuff apparently its free delivery from M&S to Australia and New Zealand until 13th November - if you need anything:)

Thanks Kidcat, I'd seen that elsewhere earlier and had a good browse. The only things I wanted were kitchen things I don't have room for and food that can't be delivered here! I do love M&S food.
sorry you are in so much pain softstuff. Do you know when you will get a diagnosis?
Well, I've given up hope of a nice rash, which would confirm shingles (at present that's the current assumption). I have another 8 days on the tablets, then I have 2 days without the tablets, if at that time all is clear and no pain, it was shingles and my body has dealt with them. If there's pain I have to book an MRI because it could be MS. But I suspect if I'm booking an MRI (for which I already have the referral), I'll also be running back to the docs for more of these tablets, which at over 100 quid for the fortnight will scare the pain away!

Thanks for asking and I'm sorry if that's TMI. To be honest, I'm less scared about the potential MS than I was, because what I'm being shown is that medication can really tackle the symptoms.

I'm off to my volunteering in a mo, just trying to psych myself up into putting a bra on :rotfl:
