  • Re bowel cancer.
    I really hope it isn't.
But my mother had it 6 years ago. Due to NHS mix up, she didn't get results for a good while so it had advanced. She has a colostomy bag but last year she got her all clear.

Hells Bells! Now I have to add Misty to my waiting list for spelling classes. What is it with you dog owners? Try just labelling their bowls with the contents - MEAT. BISCUIT. WATER. etc. and don't let them eat till they've read the bowls. It's a start.

Fuddle: Great news and no more than you deserve.

On the subject of strange names for things, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when my friends husband, a dignified academic, was sent to the shop to buy swimming trunks for his small sons and asked the assistant for two pairs of 'dippy-dunks'.

I am worn out with reading but was determined to catch up. Now I'm going to bed and will expect another 10 pages by tomorrow morning.

Hmmm... Judging by your signature I'm not sure you're the right person to be giving the spelling lessons ;) in any case, most dog owners avoid these classes for a reason. Most dogs can spell W.A.L.K. And F.O.O.D. And look at the trouble that causes. Keeping them illiterate helps reduce the number of incidences of accidents due to over-enthusiastic tail-wagging

Stiltwalker and SDG - the photos are lovely! You are so talented.:T

GreyQueen - I love that you call it your pooter. My DD2 got an HP laptop a few years ago and wanted to call it Harry Potter! I said that it was silly so she called it Harry Pooter instead!:)

PIC - hope kitty turns up soon.

My aunt's friend, years ago, got muddled between "duraglit" and "durex" caused much hilarity in Timothy White's as she was about 80. True :rotfl:

Quick catch up before I start my day as OH is in the bathroom. I have to clean house today and cook stuff. I am also determined to send in the next assignment of a course I am doing, it has taken a long time as it isn't the kind of thing I like to do. SO it will be a hurdle overcome and onto the next.

    Have a good day all.

Morning toughies - feeling very delicate today due to 'ormonal reasons but have dragged myself into werk.

About the heating - I grew up in a house with no CH, and you could write your name in the frost on the inside of the windows in winter. I remember being cold a lot, and hated it - however I'm not doing some hair shirty or revisiting childhood stuff... I have electric fan heaters and am never cold in the room I'm in if you see what I mean. I too am too much of a wuss to put up with being cold.

I also put the CH on once a week to air the whole house out and will put it on if there's a very deep cold snap too. It's just that I have discovered I don't miss it so far, and can save a large chunk of money each month (and I wish I had discovered that a couple of years ago!)

Lovely that you had a robin "helping" you GQ! I think they are a lovely bird. My sparrows seem to have deserted me for the neighbours who are possibly putting out a better class of bird food - I'm not worried as it will save me a small fortune, they're a greedy bunch. The goldfinches are still with me for the nyger seed anyway!

Hope all goes well for everyone today, whatever you're doing.
