Not sure if this has worked but it should br pictures of some of the cakes I've made. The one featuring Barney the purple dinosaur is meant to be him on fire.

They are fab! You are really talented!

Can't not comment on the cakes, especially the tank, it's incredible. Was Barney being toasted for someone who had outgrown him?!

PIC fingers crossed for DH. My dad had the same about this time last year (in fact we were waiting for the results over christmas and my parents were brilliant about it) and all was fine.

Byatt - yes, both mine and DD's (my mum was going to do DD's but she broke her arm) was a bit of a last minute rush getting them finished but well worth it!

    SDG - fab cakes.

  • Stiltwalker - they are lovely photos, you both look so happy and the children....goodness they are cute!

SDG31000 - just wow! Those cakes are brilliant!

Having posted way back that I wouldn't lurk on the new thread I have been doing just that, so I am now delurking again! :)

I've spent the day pickling eggs - most of our chickens are laying at the moment which means that we are getting 10 - 12 eggs a day, so there has been a bit of an egg mountain building up on the worktop! I've got 10 dozen pickled today and will get a couple of dozen frozen for use over winter - I've just been reading how to do this on another thread, not tried it before.

Went to the farm shop to buy potatoes this afternoon, they are now £9 a sack!! They were charging £8 a couple of weeks ago - this time last year I was paying £4.50!

Planning on spending the rest of the evening getting cheap recipe ideas off the OS board as money is very, very tight this month and I'm starting to get a bit worried about being able to afford diesel towards the end of the month. We are pretty much housebound without the car as we are rural with no public transport and one of our children is in a wheelchair. Should be able to live off the freezer contents this week so that should help a bit.

Gosh just read that back and I sound quite moany! I'm not normally like that, I promise :D
