Afternoon, toughies.
fuddle, I'm so delighted for you all - you deserve a bit of good luck! :j  Will that mean you're closer to us in West Yorkshire, further away or about the same?
Have bought a new craft mag (sinful, I know!), but it's actually rather useful, so not that bad. It's inspired me to plan some stuff to make for Christmas, so has added some cheer to the day!

Afternoon all
Had a busy weekend (so much for wanting some quite time lol)
Was taken out for dinner last night by sister n her boyfriend :j was rather nice and ds3 was so well behaved, the older 2 were at their sleepover.
Spent just under half my grocery challenge for the month but I should have enough in for 2 weeks, making ds2 pack ups for the next 2 weeks then popping in freezer.
On a clear out now, finding items I never knew I had! My youngest is 6 yet I have somehow managed to unearth a coat for 18months, (the downside of having used to have a next account) worst thing is ds never wore it:o, hopefully with the help of free cycle I can get rid of the long list of items, sadly decided to do away with the downstairs rugs. Boys skin is awful with heating on and feel the rugs and dust mites are not a big help.
Must go and start dinner, put what seems like weeks worth of washing away and figure out what I still need to get and spend for XmasDebt free

May I ask which one it was...I'm feeling in need of a bit of seasonal inspiration myself.

Fuddle I'm so pleased you will be warm, dry, comfortable and happy for Christmas.
beccatje Sorry to hear your news. I hope Mr B finds work really soon.
I was reading somewhere that the John Lewis advert cost £6 million to make. Is it just me or is that a massive waste of money? Imagine what Monnogran could do with just a little bit of that money. I was introduced by a lady on MSE to her aunty who is a missionary in Ethiopia. I send her stuff when I can. Last month I sent her some home made jam (cost about 10p, it was only a small plastic tub), some Oxo cubes (89p) and some hot chocolate sachets (£1). The whole lot cost £7 to post and the lady was delighted with them. She was overjoyed at the real fruit jam that tasted of "home". That is the sort of thing Christmas should be made of, not £6 million pounds worth of advertising. Sorry (climbs down off soapbox).
I have my heating on too. Two hours in the morning and two hours at night. Although the house is huge, it's terraced and we don't use the top floor, so we're managing fine like that at the moment. The house elf doesn't feel the cold anyway.
Danetastic don't let it get to you and hugs xxx
Take care all of you.0 -

Ours is about the same to DS2's school. Most people go in the car and think we are nuts to walk.
I am hoping as the children get older the pace might increaseSPC #1813
