Thanks All,
Back from Darlington...The event was ok. Smaller than expected, I made the time go slow so I did not come home straight away. Lovely sunny day. Will post images on the blog so as to not take over here and go off topic.
Frightening isn't it there was a Punch & Judy show amongst the entertainment and the person doing it...his Father performed a show in my home for my Birthday approx 50 years ago:eek:
Thinking of having a salad and for the first time in years a burger in a bun with it! Will hunt around to see what chutney/relish I have for the burger but I may go with onions...
Had a test to see how my blood is for diabetes and it came out fine rated 5(done for free in Tesco's)considering I have kidney disease but on the other hand mainly eat a fruit and veg diet I was pleased that came out as it did.
They said I'd have to fast before they could do the test and when had I last eaten, when I said 11pm yesterday(approx 16 hours ago)they were able to do it.
Not happy on one thing though Argos don't sell the batteries for the Digital Cameras they sell, the same cameras are sold in Tesco's and they don't sell them either...so its order online or luckily I found an independent computer shop in D'ton who will order one, Sony version costs £29.99:eek:or a Duracell version for £19.99. Seems crazy selling the cameras but not the batteries to keep them going. So I'll get a spare one soon."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Better have some sweeties to take the thought of a certain vegetable away!;)
DH assembled the new cast iron coat stand yesterday and I got all the winter coats and jackets washed and then dry outside on the line.
I want to make the most of any decent weather we get so had a late lunch outside with potato salad, burgers, rolls and salad. I got to the local butcher at 11 this morning and it looked as if a flock of locusts had descended!!! No barbecue packs and no chicken or burgers etc. I managed to get some sausages, pork steaks and some frozen burgers as well as chops for tomorrow.

I had the magic cooker on overnight to make soup and it was not very hot the next morning - does that sound right? Once blended the soup was lovely.
DH has been showing dd the controls of the car and has just managed to get insurance so he can teach her to drive. They came back from a lesson and poor kid looks traumatised:eek:
Hug to all and have a good day."This site is addictive!"

Well, the sun shone and the music played and we had a fab day at Disability Rocks and we now have two extremely pooped kiddies and 2 fairly pooped parents!
DD was thrilled to bits to meet the Singing Hands ladies (and they are lovely) and we had to watch both their shows and she got to have her photo taken with them afterwards! DD was in the padding pool (yes, literally IN the pool - clothes and all) within half an hour of arriving! Had taken spare clothes though so were fine, his big sister waited til later in the day to get into the paddling pool fully clothed! We have made art and painted and eaten yummy Indian street food (me and DD) and wood fired stove cooked pizza (DH and DS) and stunning ice cream (everyone except DS as he hates it, strange boy). The kids have played in the sand and made new friends and met up with old friends. All in all a jolly good day!
Take care all - X0 -
ELONA that sounds ok to me, it's cooler overnight so even though the cooker is insulated it will not stay so hot for so long. That's why I make sure and bring the contents back up to a good boil before serving them. The way to keep the heat up overnight is to wrap the cooker in an old duvet or make a big cosy to cover it and cushion for it to stand on from one. They used to make these in the 70s but I'm not sure I've seen one for donkeys years, certainly not in shops.
STILTWALKER Hi Helen, really glad you had such a good and fun day and that the kiddlers had such lovely new experiences, sounds fab.
Hope everyone else has had a lovely day and that the weather for you has been as beautiful as it has been here for us, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Evening all.
Just wanted to pop on this evening and say a massive thank you to you all for the kind words, support and advice I have been given over the past 48 hrs or so, It means a whole lot!!
Had some really drama's yesterday. But before I go into that, I just wanted to add, I grew up with my mum having a drinking problem after she parted ways with my dad. My OH's parents are the same, Although both our mothers have now dealt with their issues (Kind of)(Will crack open the drinks if times are tough rather than dealing with the issues head on type iykwim!)
This has left me with a complex to people drinking around me. I don't touch it, Because I have seen the effects it brings, My siblings are the same. This is the issue with an addiction, Its the innocent ones left behind with the disorders.
I have written the details down that was given to me (Bristol debt advice?)
Right, Off to watch some BTG, Please people, No more walking into glass doors, or falling out when exercising your yogo!Future goals:

Mrs LW - thank you, I didnt have any pineapple in at all, however I did manage to pop to the shops and buy biscuits, so made a lemon meringue with a biscuit base, an apple crumble ( I had everything in for that) and cheated and bought a cheesecake as I didnt have time to make a third. Puddings for 15 people, with alot of AS kids was challenging to say the least.
Stiltwalker - am so glad you all enjoyed it so much.
AOT - well done, I always promise I will label the freezer contents and always slip up, I usually end up using the non labelled stuff on BBQ days and can normally get by that way.0 -
Sorry all, not posted all day as having lovely time with my little family in the garden but have just received a msg from my mam asking what I'm doing tomorrow and need a supportive release. gutted and its blown the wind out of my happy sails
I replied I'm not doing anything but would prefer you stayed home to do some sorting. Sorry. She replied 'ok' I then replied ' I don't know what you want me to say, I'm really bothered by all this and can't face you until you get the motivation to sort yourself out. She's ignore that one.
I feel such a mean cow but at the same time I am angry because I was so happy an so relaxed. Close to tears and feel like relenting and saying 'come down' but that would be as bad as me doing the cleaning work wouldn't it?
I'm not an ultimatum type of girl but I don't want to spend time with her at the moment. I'm protecting myself even though I feel so bad.
I have just admitted to DH that my life would be so much easier of she died. How horrible is that. I feel my relationship with her has already gone and all thy she can offer me is baggage and negative, hurtful emotion.0
