I sometimes try new recipes and it isn't that they don't work, it's just that some of them aren't to our particular taste, but I'll always enjoy an old fashioned roast or a boiled gammon, because you can do so many different things with the leftover meat. Having said that the asian, mediterranean, scandinavian cuisines are all very easy to cook if you know the terms that cookery writers use in the recipes they write. I sometimes have to go look up what a particular instruction means and that's how I learn. There is nothing wrong with simple though, we love beans on toast or a nice simple omelette or a jacket potato but not every meal. You're doing better than OK with the cooking and life at the moment, you're on a ROLL!!!! Long may it continue, you're doing good!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Lynn probably not legal.
It was a large ish with nappies blankets etc and then my eldest would sit on top legs round my headwith me his holding his hands. It was quite safe as his bum was in the bag and the top of the bag it acted like a headrest.
I've seen a bag like this on mothercare for £150:eek:
Thats, where I got the idea from.
My, eldest loved it

Hello everyone. I was going to say good morning but just realised the morning has slipped away unnoticed and I have not been productive at all.
Fuddle I love the look of the car. Not being a driver I know nothing about the vehicles except they usually have four wheels (plus a steering one) but it looks FAB.
With reference to the "humorous" accidents and spillages - I can only imagine that my ex boss must be so pleased that I have left as it will not be necessary to replace soaked keyboards so frequently!!!! I am really GOOD at spilling any type of drink. Don't dare risk it with my laptop as I could not afford a new one.
Following the advice on the OS boards I had a clear out of my freezer yesterday and was horrified at the rubbish I found tucked away. Its a good deal emptier now so will have to get cooking to fill it. Its just a shame I don't enjoy cooking.
And VJsmum - I love Christmas Pud anyway. Doesn't matter whether hot or cold or in between. Of course that may be why I'm NOT a slimmer of the year.

Afternoon toughies from sunny Cheshire
I have managed a fair amount today even though I had to stop to take DD7 for her dance presentation, am so proud, she has only been attending a few months and she not only passed her exam she also won a trophy.
I had a good root in the freezer this morning (I have been trying to run the contents down to defrost, and am now finally getting to a point where I am winning. I have got one freezer well down and if I really tried I could transfer contents to the other - which I will do on Tues when OH is here to move the freezer into the garden to defrost.
We have been invited last minute to a friends house this evening and asked to bring a pudding - I am blank as to what I can make in the time I have left especially as I have run the main stocks right down and need to do a big shop.0 -
Hi everyone Pops you are doing so well, and am glad things are better with you.
Warm welcome to anyone new. This is a fantastic forum, and I love it. Yes we all have our battles, that is true, and some more than most. This is where we can find support and a shoulder when needed, I know it helps me so much.
We have been enjoying gorgeous weather here in our wee part of the world. It has lifted my mood so much, and it is lovely to sit in the garden and listen to the little birds and see them fly in and out. There are such lovely colours in the garden too and what we have planted (vegetables and potatoes ) are looking well so far. Fingers crossed they are a success. I feel so very blessed with all we have. have a lovely weekend everyone, Margaret xDo a little kindness every day.;)0 -
I was very disappointed (especially after reading so many of your posts) with myself for letting the freezer get in such a state that I couldn't identify quite a lot and had to throw it out. With money now so tight I can't afford to do that.
So decided to have a good root around in my cupboards while it was on my mind and am pleased I did as with what is left in freezer plus store I think I just need to buy milk this week which will help a lot. :j
Its lovely and sunny here so bedding drying nicely on my small veranda. I wish there was a garden but living in flat I have to be grateful for what outside space there is. Am hoping to get a window box going to grow some herbs etc. Anyone got any ideas what will do well in a small, windy but sunny space please?Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
Congratulations to LITTLE MISS KIDCAT for being so clever and not only passing her exam but also getting a trophy, what a star, you must be such a proud Mumsie!!!!!
KIDCAT do you have the makings for a plain cake and a tin of pineapple chunks, if so you could make a pineapple upside down cake which would be a very nice pudding to take with you, old fashioned I know, but I've always found it dissapears very quickly!!!
AOT congrats on sorting our the freezer and cupboards, gargantuan tasks but worth doing and if you get a no spend week except for milk out of it double congrats!!! We once passed a LORRY FULL of Christmas Puddings on the motorway, oh bliss, oh delight, oh joy a whole lorryload of puddingy delectableness. It's the thought that cheers me up on dull days, all that wonderfullness, oh my I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!! I've got a good drying day too down here and the bedding and our winter coats are flapping away merrily, I love days like this don't you? Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Oooooh just the thought of a lorry load of Christmas puddings make my mouth water and my stomach growl. A plateful of salad definitely not so tempting now.:DUse it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0
