Hugs to all those having one of those weeks/months/years. DH is an alcoholic, and is much better since he stopped drinking completely in January. He has also just started on anti-depressants so we shall see what happens. Alcohol can be evil.
We are getting the new car today (well not new, but you know what I mean) so hopefully petrol expenditure will go down a lot. We also need to sort out remortgaging to get that down a bit. All savings already spent on stuff like pet insurance naturally.
It seems slightly warmer here this morning so I have hopes of a bank holiday weekend that isn't a complete washout. We have lots of chores to do but it would be nice to go out for a picnic or something too. Perhaps I'm dreaming a bit there ...0 -
Well the sun is belting down on me here, but it was minus 2 at first light. I'm going to be in the garden ALL DAY to soak up some rays
Mrs C that sausage & cabbage thing sounds nice. My ME been bad this last couple weeks and I made a decision to switch off my moneysaving conscience for the duration. I get on so much better without the guilt lol. I'll switch it back on when am feeling better!
Been diagnosed with "degenerative wear" in my shoulder - that translates to a bl00dy sore arm and its bugging me. Is in my left shoulder and I'm left handed.
Gawd as we go through life this what comes to us eh - bits of us start to drop off !0 -
Pretty good take on the day and again, much appreciated help and friendship.
Think we came to the conclusion that the letter could've been made more individual as opposed to being a stock response and that an "Official" warning could've been something like "We will follow our visit with a return one on"(Insert date)
Then on the return visit if things were not as they want/like issue warnings. Some may not take notice unless it is an official notice but they wouldn't anyhow. But good householder's may get a black mark against them.
My home is how it would've been had they called earlier and how it would've been had they not called when they did thus avoiding all the trouble in the first place.
As said it was a horrendous day weatherwise so it was a call above and beyond the call of duty. A true friend.
The day before it turned nasty weatherwise after starting out "sunny" ish. But I did get caught in perhaps my first hailstone shower...they hurt. But on the day of the visit there was rain, it was cold and very windy. And as stated it was quite a struggle for mcculloch to get here...and she came baring the gift of tea...most welcome.

Lots of lovely advise on here, My dad used to like to have a drink. He wasn't an alcoholic, but to relax he often went to the pub and had a couple of pints. I cant remember a time when he didn't go, even when we were primary school age. As far as I remember he wasn't nasty at all, and we never went without. But I never drink, and we have no alcohol in the house at home.
I can confirm yellow ball is burning brightly in the sky, just a shame I am at work from 11 today. OH has rang to say he will sort the hedge at the front so if the council do a drive by, we look good at the front again. If a repair man arrives and the garden is untidy they report it now, as with if they enter the house and there are problems there too. I just hope they didn't view the spare bedroom, namely room of doom. It has a fair few bits n bobs in it ready for car booting.
I hope everyone is ready for a few days of sunshine, its suppose be staying over the weekend. Tomorrow I am going to try and sort the shed and then paint the fencing.....
Have good day xBSC member 137

I wasn't planning to go out and to be honest I was cold and felt full of aches and pains. When all the trouble/visit was over I went to bed and slept the day away. I awoke and realised that I had overslept and remembered that I had booked an appointment with my Dr and so filled him in on what had happened and have his backing/support/help if trouble happens again, always good to have as a character reference as such.
I wonder if I did the right thing or upset him by not taking the statins he thought that I should but my consultant said I did not need them/should not take them for the fear my kidneys might be damaged. But my good cholestoral hasn't changed much and the bad has improved...slightly.
Might discuss again with my Consultant again when I can see him face to face. Listening to why I was offered them again by my Dr last night perhaps I should've given them a go."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Well, I had to give in have a taxi in both directions and by the time I was home again, I could barely move...and again it was back to bed and lots of sleep. My legs are covered in bruises(not sure why)but will keep and eye on that as I know that can be a symptom of a serious blood problem.
Came home with lots of fruit, salad(with good intentions)and some extra bowls for mixing in(I will make bread, boxes to store food in the fridge/freezer and tins for the oven.
I have been eating(goes a long way)a tin of corned beef for a couple of days and had some lovely rolls with salad filling...
Today thinking today of having...
Breakfast(Fruit, yogurt and a kind of sprinkling of fibre stuff)
Later salad with Jersey potatoes(as a treat)with corned beef and followed with perhaps a fruit pie with custard. That's more than I usually would and quite a feast for me...but it takes little if any preparation.
That's quite a sermon so I split it up as it looked so wrong posted in one go."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Morning NuttyP,
I think that sounds much how things are around here...its good to keep people on their toes but its swung the other way and genuine people are being watched sometimes a little too much...
Hope that the day at work goes well(seeing you have to be there)
I know the organisations mentioned to help are local the following site has access to some great information on a variety of health issues...around here you can pick up booklets at Dr's surgeries but they can be read/downloaded online.

Arhh mar , you certaintly have my sympathy for your shoulder probs , one of the worst pains ive ever felt TBH........
I had wear and tear of the rotator cuff, and arthritis in both shoulders so I had to have 2 seperate ops called . arthroscopic subacromial decompressions.........and the bones shaved which did help loads with the arthritis, I still can feel the pains now if I over work them, I had the ops 2 and 3 years ago......
So you must rest that shoulder as much as you can to help yourself, also use a hot water bottle it helps a wee bit........
Its hard when you want to work hard and cant it frustrates me so much, as I m only 55:eek:,..........
Well ive been to the beach this morning and it was certaintly warmer than friday , got some sun out today as well......
I hope you will all have a stress free weekend , oh and my pond filter came friday arvo , so im outside trying to get that up and running ........,,
And thank you all for your very very kind words of comfort.....god bless you all.................Sheila0 -
Morning all
just a quickie from me this morning as my order I put in has arrived and the sun is shining :j
Off out the garden to empty waterlogged pots and get my cucamelon things in amongst lots of other stuff to do.
Have a great day will catch up on all your news later XX0 -
Good morning
lovely to read chipper posts.
Lyn I've a cabbage to use up, if you get a min would you share your casserole recipe?
We have the very bright yellow stuff and boy does it feel good.
The girls are packing to sleep at MIL'sbut DH has had to go get some equipment to give to the oil rigs. A couple of hours I think then he'll be back and starting his week holiday. I suspect a long evening walk with pup tonight, just the two of us. Be nice
Sheila and mar I can only imagine what pain you have to go through with your illnesses and can appreciate how frustrating it is not be able to do what it is you want to, when you want to. Is wear and tear something NHS help with re. Pain management?
It's complicated but I have a working working washing machine (LL gave DH permission to look at pipe himself as engineer didn't call. You all were right, a rubber washer from the filter came lose and was stuck down the pipe) it works but the socket behind now doesn't work (they are faulty as we found out with dishwasher a few months back) but I have a working washing machinealbeit in the middle of the kitchen floor and attached to a different socket via an extension lead. Don't be sweating the small stuff eh... It works!
Enjoy your Saturday and I hope we all see the sun and get to do the things we want to.0
