Morning FUDDLE surely can poppet
Sausage and Cabbage casserole
1 lb of sausage meat or the meat from 8 sausages taken out of thier skins
1 onion chopped
1 apple cored but not peeled and chopped
2 tablespoons brown sauce
1 big cabbage
some butter but not much
salt and black pepper
a sprinkle of dry sage and dry thyme
Prepare the cabbage as normal, take out the stalk and shred it then cook it in boiling water for 5 minutes to blanch it and drain it very well in a colander. Grease a heavy casserole with a little butter and put in half the cabbage. Mix the sausagemeat with the apple, onion, herbs, sauce and seasoning and spread it over the cabbage , put the other half of the cabbage on top and season well and dot with butter. Put the lid on the casserole and cook in the oven on a low heat about 160 degC for 2 to 3 hours and it should be cooked to perfection. I serve it with mash and carrots and gravy and sometimes apple sauce too it's yummy and cheap, enjoy, Cheers Lyn xxx.
Have a lovely weekend with Mr Fuddle and then enjoy your weeks holiday with all of you, Lyn xxx.0 -
fuddle my integrated fridge is still wired by extension lead which is draped since just after we moved in - its one of the jobs that my dad promised to do and got offended when I was asking an electrician in to do it - that was two years ago. Its now on my list of urgent jobs before redundancy, so will be looking at getting the electrician in when kids are back at school.
Its worse because the fridge will now need to be taken out again and refitted whereas when I wanted to get the electrician out the fridge was out for repair
Mardatha and Shegar - sending you both huge hugs today, enjoy the yellow stuff while you both can, this may be our summer.
Pops glad yesterday was sorted and you now understand their reasoning.
Today we also have the yellow stuff, I have DD7 to take dancing in a minute and then I think we will head out for a few hours to t ake advantage, who knows when we will next see sunshine. OH at work and DD18 snowed with revision so will just be me and the three musketeers.
I have loads of planting to do but am thinking of doing that tomorrow when OH is here to do the lifting, my back is not brilliant so am hoping if I am careful I can keep it going along until after the half term0 -
All I can say is hugs to all those with heavy loads, my thoughts are with you all. xxx
Shegar, I know all to well that pinned on smile 'Oh yes things arent too bad' I say after pacing the floor all night wondering if we are going to get through the latest crisis. I get weary. We have an evening scan in a couple of weeks, Oh was suprised till I told him you had the same late appointment. Hospital visits last week, this week and more to come so cross your pennypinching fingers for us. I hope your walk on the beach was nice, it must be very calming, I know it always helps me when I can get to Morecambe for a walk.
Stilty, great news re - school, support is everything isnt it?
Mar shoulder pain is awful but you will have good periods, I feel arthritis is like a bug, you get a blast of it then it wanders off. I had my knee tidied up and cartilage work done a few years ago and it really helped, not too bad really. It had been letting me down and locking but I did work 11 hour days and run 4 miles everyday so it might have been that. Now its focused from the waist uop but not too bad at the mo.
We has sunshine :j:j:j and the washing is out. Just off to mop the kitchen floor ready for DGS coming for the night so better go and get it done.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

Morning All!
We have the sun, and the awful wind has dropped at last. It's a glorious day and we are working tonight - oh well!
Mar - have you tried Green-Lipped Mussel tablets? We used to take them -OH for arthriticky pain in his toes and for my knees, which were awful clicky and stiff. They seemed to work a treat for easing the joints. And there is a rub-in gel called Pernaton , which OH used when his toes were bad at night, he swore by it, although I cannot see how a gel on the skin can immediately stop pain in a joint, he said it did!
And I do hear tell that sweeties are particularly good for poorly shoulders...Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Glad you have a result with the WM Fuddle, love the 'don't sweat the small stuff' comment, I think a lot of people would cave under the pressure of what some of us consider small stuff.

I can empathise with all the age related(!) pains, I have shoulder pain, elbow pain and knee pain and deep abdominal pain from endometriosis. Last night the shoulder pain was over my left side and I couldn't get comfortable. Along with a chronic illness which exarcebates tiredness I feel like I need to be put out to grass!:rotfl:
Hence why driving so much finishes me off.
I do manage to haul myself up the fields to feed the badgers, in one go now however, intially I was ready to expire at half way.
Right, have had a lazy morning, no work for a few days, I shouldn't be happy about that but it means I can catch up on housework. :T
Oh and my gooseberry bush is bursting with fruit, thrilled to bits. :T0 -

We are getting the new car today (well not new, but you know what I mean) so hopefully petrol expenditure will go down a lot. We also need to sort out remortgaging to get that down a bit. All savings already spent on stuff like pet insurance naturally.
It seems slightly warmer here this morning so I have hopes of a bank holiday weekend that isn't a complete washout. We have lots of chores to do but it would be nice to go out for a picnic or something too. Perhaps I'm dreaming a bit there ...
Thank you for sharing Possession, :A If the anti-d's don't appear to work then go back, there's so much they can do now.
edit, I have an addictive personality, it's an awful thing to have.
Gosh, I'm not sure how I've managed to get this far I am a walking disaster!
Enjoy your new car!0 -

Oh, this sounds familiar. I know I need to take a step back when I have a disproportionate reaction to the small stuff.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Easy said though short-bird, I do too but when you have so many small stuffs to deal with it can really overwhelm. It's normally something really small that tips me over the crying cliff whereas the bigger stuff I deal with much better.
I'm told don't sweat the small stuff quite regularly by DH. Personally, if I lived with me I'd be saying summat much stronger than that lol0
