Wilkos cheapest for plastic growing pots? Am I right in thinking frost will crack terracotta pots?
You can buy pots that are frost-hardy, but they are more expensive. I find the cheap (made in Italy mostly) terracotta pots do suffer in winter, they seem to split into very dangerous thin shards, extremely sharp.
Plastic are better for retaining moisture, but can be a bit light if you fill them with multi compost (so easily blown over), so I put heavy stones in the bottom to anchor them down.
I use anything I can find as containers for growing veg, it does not need to be pretty! Even plastic trays (like the ones mushrooms come in) are deep enough for radish and little lettuces, even small varieties of carrot.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Is the tea too strong, or too weak? It might just need a bit of practice to get the tea-to-water ratio right!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Pops you did say in a previous post that when you phoned the HA that they had received a complaint regarding yourself.
I am not saying you are buying things as luxuries and i am just repeating what you have previously said.
My father also has his annual gas / electric checks and all come back all clear, and he is a hoarder and i'm slowly helping him with his house. I also did not say your house was untidy or that your were a hoarder i was repeating what the council expected of me when i signed the tenancy agreement back in February 2013.
To be honest you are being very defensive about the whole situation, i was only giving you reasons as to why the HA could be pestering you. They are people who are going through the same thing as yourself and are currently having their own tenancies looking at and currently coping with extra expense of council tax and the so called bedroom tax, myself included.
I think you need to calm down and take a few deep breaths.0 -
Thanks Shegar and Kez,
Mrs Lw I suggested the same thing a few posts ago as I did not know the visit had been pre-arranged but Kidcat confirmed it had been.
The bottom line is the HA feel there is a problem, which at the moment has not been detailed as Popperwell you have not asked for this. I agree it's upsetting but if everything is cleared as you appear to be doing then there's nothing to worry about. As for paperwork, a small filing cabinet or attractive storage boxes might be the way to go. I have lots of stuff but cull regularly, in files and boxes as I have the business, my DD's paperwork going way back, and important documents. Shredding does take time but as it can be done sitting down you can do it when resting or having a snack, I used to do it between adverts on tv.0 -
The blossoms have come out here all of a sudden too, it's so beautiful I could look at it for hours. Hoepfully there will be lots of fruit!0

Just been round the park with doggie and DH. It's certainly cold out there but it was nice and bracing! I'm glad we didn't stay overnight as originally planned as there was quite a bit of snow overnight.
Back to work tomorrow but it will be nice to have just the one day. i took today as annual leave and am glad as I was a bit tired out.
Sausages to use up so sausage casserole for tea tomorrow and have a tub of carbonara sauce that needs used soo so that is the next day's tea. Not very home made but hey ho. Last night we bought M0rrisons cottage pies (from chilled bit - 2 for £7) as we just wanted something hot and easy. It was delicious. We had the other one tonight.
Off to light my candle and send warm thoughts and wishes to all.

Thank you both for the tea advice and lavender/pot advice. Thinking about growing in the 6 pinters of milk. It will he me started anyway. I have strawbs and peas, next is salad greens. We like rocket actually. I will investigate later. Seed sourcing? Any recommendations?
Re. tea. The breakfast is too week and Assam too strong. DH took me to M*risons where there's a better selection. We've opted to try typhoo. I will have to use the other stuff up though. I have the idea of spoon of breakfast and spoon of Assam to use it up - tea sacrilege or might it just work. Will try tomorrow
Thanks for answering all my questions today. You've took my mind off negativity.
Byatt, your words of not being frightened of life will be going to bed with my tonight for me to mull over.0 -

I'm worried but quite calm honestly Kezlou(perhaps the AD's are helping)and I accept all opinions and views...and never thought anything other than that you were giving support or advice/suggesting why they might call but I do not remember a complaint still...if I could I would happily admit it..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Good idea about the filing of documents Byatt but the way its going a draw in a cabinet may be enough or a folder...thank you..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
