Sorry need to appologies to everyone, there isn't a aldi voucher in todays mirror newspaper. My mum said she thinks it will be next week as its not the last Thursday in the month...... I hope no one has made any special journeys to get a paper.

I did do a quick shop in aldi, was so busy. We did the top up in sainsburys. There were a few bits cheaper in there than aldi, I am getting better at this saving money.

New washing machine is working brilliantly, the clothes are coming out nearly dry, so its quicker to dry. Just hope the scrappy is driving around over the weekend and will collect the old machine.

Take care everyone x Sorry x

See Lyn, your caring thoughts about the villages trees helped your apple tree blossom. Karma I tell you, karma! ;) Enjoy! :)

I do love a mature garden. Being on the new build estate amongst driveways and bricks is seriously annoying me. I like to see buds and blossom! Meet fuddle, a pot grower extraordinaire (crumbs, not that kind of pot!!!) I mean growing in pots. So much to learn though but being a renter with what seems like ants in her pants I think growing in containers is the only/most sensible way of dabbling in something I'm keen to learn about.

About to take the pup for a walk. Will tell site office I'm popping out as would cry if I missed waging engineer! Hope Alfie doesn't pick on a swan this time. Last night he approached one which hissed angrily, puffed up its wing and wacked the stupidly excitable dog in the face. I panicked dragging said dog behind me but the swan ran after me!!

Nutty pleased you got a new machine! Take it from auld machine less here, that's very exciting news :D

Kez, we've got your hailstones, I'm going to get wet out but adds to the fun!

My cheerful moment today was seeing the little kale seeds had germinated when I finally made it to the allotment after several days housebound with the flu. Seems they germinated as quickly as the radishes whereas I had been expecting them to be slower like cabbages. I know kale isn't everyone's favourite (:rotfl:) but I used to love 'curly greens' as a child and hope we'll have some winter greens to keep us going this year. Planted chard and beetroot as the same time as the kale, so hopefully they'll be peeping through soon.

Strange old day weather wise, sunshine, showers, gales....even snow forecast on the hills tomorrow...in Middle England in the last week of May:(

Brought a hanging basket back from the polytunnel on the lottie, just three surfinias in it but they are flowering like mad and it looks really pretty. Something else to smile about.:)

Just what I didn't need today. Came back from dog walk to a letter from HMRC. My tax code has changed to BR. Having called HMRC it transpires that the nursery have supplied information saying I have two jobs there and because of that I have to pay 20% tax. I looked closely at my wage slip and sure enough tax had been deducted from that cheque they sent.

Because I am yet to receive my P45 from them the details can't be changed. HMRC advisor was lovely when I told her the problem I had getting my wage and told me not to worry HMRC would send a P43 request for the information but I should write and request my P45 as it is a legal requirement.

So I've been writing a strongly worded letter and now wholeheartedly fed up.

It will all be fine and I will be reimbursed but I just didn't need that today.

Still no washing machine engineer. About to finish this slippers over a cuppa.

Parents of teens - do you have any recommendations for skincare products? DS (11) had his first proper spot this morning and was disproportionately upset about it - he was refusing to go to school as everyone would laugh at him. (Obviously he went to school!)
  • Deep breath FUDDLE and make that 2 cuppas!!! I'm sure it will all be sorted out but the nursery would certainly be feeling my wrath in no uncertain terms, how, just how DARE they!!!!!!! Think a happy thought and don't let them grind you down sweetie, Lyn xxx.

hi possession my DD swears by using a really basic cleansing wash. Eldest is a beautician and has said that the Clearasil range are really harsh on the skin. Simple is a branded version, but DD has either aldi or wilko's own brand stuff. If they have spots maybe once a week one with an exfoliant would be good but shouldn't be used everyday if that makes sense.

Popperwell I don't understand all thsi stuff about house inspections - I've lived in council housing forever and never once had anybody come to inspect anything - in fact I'd doubt if it was even legal? It's not generally done - your house is your house as long as you're paying rent and not being antisocial then they shouldn't bother you.
