Four other cats have gone missing locally as well. Why do people tell you all the horror stories on what can happen to cats? Do I look like I need to know??? No of course I don't I'm a wreck as she is part of the family.
Oh PIC I'm so sorry to hear about your missing cat. Keep thinking positive thoughts - as I mentioned a while ago our cat is not long back from 16 days missing. It turned out he had got himself trapped in an elderly neighbour's garage:eek: Now a fortnight since he was found I honestly don't think it has had any lasting effects on him at all. He is a little bit thinner than he was, and maybe can't understand why we're being so nice to him(!), but apart from that he's fine.
Have you leafleted all your neighbours? It might be worth doing, if we hadn't put leaflets round I think our other neighbours (who actually tracked our boy down) would have dismissed our elderly neighbours assertions that she could hear a strange noise in her garage, but because of the leaflet the other neighbours went and investigated and there was boy cat!
Keeping everything crossed that your cat turns up soon.0 -
Morning all. PiC - hope your cat turns up soon. Healthy vibes to all the poorlies.
Debtness, Xmas dinner is just a roast with a cracker so just do what you feel is right. We never bother with a pudding of any type.
My doggie girls are so funny this morning. I've put their food down and the two old ones stood guarding theirs from littley dog. Then Littley wanted to go in garden, so the old dogs took the opportunity to relax on the sofa. As soon as they heard me opening the door again for Littley, back to guarding. Think they don't trust her!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good morning everyone, hope the colds/sniffles are better today.
Had a surprise this morning, 7.20am the delivery van turned up with my tumble dryer!!! I was told they start at 730 back at the depot in barnsley. OMG it was a surprise, but a good one as i have work again at 10. Raining here, but not overly cold.
Fuddle, i hope the new house is brilliant!! Then its the dreaded packing......
Paidinchckens, cool name!!, hope you little cat turns up soon. When i inadvertantly 'lost' my parents cat while they were on holiday (that was not a nice phone call to make) it turns out he had been catnapped by some female(not the original words i used) and she kept himas an indoors cat. Needless to say he had a collar on still, with his name PUD. He was returned after heated exchange of words on my behalf. So im sure hes about, just sneeking a little rest somewhere!!!
Here's to a good day, nice and easy. Just noticed OH brought the washing in last night, bless him it was 730 when he got home!
Best wishes everyone.BSC member 137

Morning toughies
fuddle, wish you so much good luck for this morning - come and tell us all later!
So much sad/bad news, hugs to everyone again. Re flu, I had it once about 14 years ago one Christmas. I was working in a shop, everyone went down with it. I worked Christmas Eve, managed to get next day's lunch done, then collapsed on the sofa for a few days. Felt like I was drunk, couldn't walk without falling over, any noise sounded like it was either miles away or far too loud, very weird!
Sorry to skim and run, will read properly later and reply, feel like another poster who felt rude for popping in and out and not "doing" things properly - I do think about you all, but hardly get time to read/post.Have an extra, guilt-laden hug!

Morning toughies.
PICsorry to hear that your cat is missing and I hope he turns up soon. They sometimes get into sheds and accidentally get locked in; I'm a touch paranoid about this happening at the allotment as I'm not up there every day and any cat would be stuck for a while......... I'm sure he's going to come back in one piece.
Have you tried notifying all nearby vets and rescue places in case someone brings him in? We had an elderly cat disappear once and she'd been found collapsed out on the street (sort of a mini-stroke, made a full recovery) and some kind person who didn't know who she belonged to had taken her to the vet.
It only took a quick phone call to ask if they'd had a cat matching her description, and we were down there like a shot.
I'm a wee bit cross today as it's piddling down and I badly want to go to my allotment. I have an errand to do in town in about an hour and will judge the caliber of the rain then. If it isn't too ghastly I may just put on waterproofs and go up for half an hour anyway. On the grounds that a little done is better than nowt.
I get cross when we have decent weather when I'm working and horrible weather on the weekends as I love to be outside.
Fuddle, hoping that the house is what you want and that it works out for you. Keep us posted, eh?
I'm another one who gets a little annoyed when people who are walking around sniffling a bit claim to have flu. I've had it twice in my whole life and was knocked off my feet and into bed for days both times. Get jabbed now so hopefully won't get the full-on flu again as it could be very serious due to pre-existing medical conditions.
Excellent advice about wiping down headrests and armrests when travelling and for the rest of us, frequent handwashing and avoiding touching our eyes/ mouths/ nostrils unless we've just washed our hands is a good habit to foster.
Hokay, should have a little wander around the rest of the web whilst finishing my cuppa then time to wash and dress and hit the streets. Honestly, some days I feel like a shopping drone, living in the city with the family in the small town or villages. It's like, can you just pop into
and get
?And bring it over on the bus when I next come their way. And it's never something small and compact in my experience.
Hope someone has the dry weather today. Laters, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

My 7 yr old DD would be so jealous (I shan't tell her!), she adores Phantom. It's a bit of a running joke on my Facebook page, Phantom on again for the 53rd time. It's actually coming to Birmingham next year and we've got tickets on her birthday, it's going to be so hard keeping it a surprise and also deflecting requests for any other birthday presents.
PIC I hope your cat turns up soon.
An organisational day here today I think, and DH will take the children to the roller disco while I have a cup of tea and watch Strictly in blissful peace.
fuddle hope the house visit goes well. whatever the outcome.0 -
LOLz @ crystal meth....
Re Xmas Dinner. Last year I cooked one of those turkey breast joints in foil (well I cooked two actually) These were the regular ones of the fresh meat aisles, not the special Xmas ones, as I checked and the 'normal' ones were bigger and cheaper. They only took just over an hour to cook, a big plus when you have an expensive electric oven, as opposed to forever for a whole turkey, and we didn't have any monster piles of leftovers to deal with. I cooked all the rest of the stuff as usual, our chestnut and apple stuffing, roast spuds and other veg. Simples. Will never ever cook a whole turkey again. If people will be weird about not seeing a whole turkey, cut it and serve it up in the kitchen.
