No Byatt big man takes any exercise but his happiest place is the sofa lol ! Last week I took him and the lurcher to a hydro pool . Neither had been swimming before ( in fact Dane only went to ankles in stream). Dogs were lifted in and you run round the pool for them to follow . Big man went first . When they lifted him out he had jelly legs and they had to hold him til he could take his own weight . Then lurchers turn - his tail wagged the whole time . He took to it straight away and was so fast . He was ok when he came out . That night they slept well . Didn't put others in cos not enough £ . Taking the two of them again tomorrow .
Taking the Dane primarily to build up muscle ESP on his back end. Many Danes are PTS cos the rear end gives and they are unable to stand but hopefully by building up muscle I can prevent this happening. Cos it's nwb it's a great way to do it without putting too much wear and tear on joints.
I'm also hoping that with him muscled up hell do better in the show ring ( expensive hobby) .Date restarted DFW 30/04/16

Danetastic, I think you are very cruel to keep mentioning your dogs but with NO PHOTOS!!!! I love Great Danes and would love to see a photo of your big baby, and of course your other poochies! I knew a Harlequin GD once, called Eric. His owner was often the last to leave the park, courtesy of Eric deciding he didn't want to go home early ..... when a GD sits down, not a lot is going to shift him :rotfl:!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Danetastic, have a look at the vegan society website. I've been vegan for six or seven years now so it is do-able. Although I do still miss cake .... most coffee shops etc only seem to sell cakes made with butter and eggs. Oh well, think of all the inches I've not added to my hips ....Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Just managed to loose a big post .
Here is my hand too Mardatha
missrlr your flu remedy gets a big thumbs up from me.
Back not good today following yesterdays physio, sitting here with a hot water bottle and have maxed the painkillers.
MIL rang last week to say she had won an Ipod in a tombola and would DD2 like it but she did not know what it did. Mr VP went to collect it last night and it was a skin for an ipod not an actual ipod :rotfl:.
Wrote out a meal plan after checking the stores and freezer and managed a very cheap weekly shop. Can anyone please explain why in Tesco tonight I got 1kg frozen broc/cauli mix for 75p but 1kg broc was £1.50 and 1Kg cauli £1,25 how daft to the supermarkets think we are .
Turkey is already in the freezer, it is one of the £9.99 ones from Aldi (have had it the last 3 yrs and it is very tasty) except I bought it earllier in the year when they were £4.99 .
Visiting my parents tomorrow to collect my winter sacks of onions, spuds and carrotts.
Off to do my exercises now to see if thye ease some of this pain.
Have a good evening, cheers, Mrs VPI am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Softstuff - displaced Melbournian here - buy a Lions Club Christmas cake ........
Ooops! Thanks for the advice, but I bought the bits yesterday! I'd seen the Lions ones, but they looked more like a light fruit cake. I got a Lawsons one (it had the highest percentage of fruit and nut I could see) and I'm drowning it in whisky. I got coles finest for the mince pies and a heston pudding. Figured the novelty of the heston would be distracting to Grandmother in law!
Sorry to hear about your tooth 2tonsils, hope you can get it fixed soon. And sorry to all of those with colds, seems to be an epidemic there, virtual hot toddies all round.
We're off to see "the Kransky sisters" tonight, has been booked for months. Hoping I can stay awake.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Evening all
I have finished Florence's hat and it is cute enough to make me more than a little broody. I will post it tomorrow morning along with a card. I think the family is still absorbing the shock of her having Down's syndrome and I don't want to disturb them.
I am doing ok today. My morning at the shop got cancelled as they had paid people in today. So I had a lazy day and feel better for it. Tomorrow I need to do lots of shopping as I'm feeding the masses again. I am also planning a raid on the continental market in the city centre. DH has been warned, but to be honest I'm normally the one stopping him from spending. I will also go to Primark to get some more of their angora blend socks. They feel lovely, are really warm and wash and dry well. They are under £2 for two pairs and I heartily recommend them.
Time to put the electric blanket on and head to bed. Take care everyone xxx0 -
Evening all :j
Yeheyyyy it's the weekend, not much rest in this house, seems housework mounts up over the week:o
2 little ones down tomorrow nightovernight sleepover for beavers n cubs, will be nice to get the TV to myself as I rarely watch it Mon-Fri.
Thankfully weather is mild ish here still, no signs of the white stuff.
Will be reading through 20 odd pages tomorrow in some attempt to catch up, starting to feel rude posting a few times a week without getting to do much more than glance through the forums. Feel a nice walk to lidl's in morning for the bits we need, had to cave in with ds1 and resort to school dinners he is just not eating his packed lunch, that's 2 on dinners 1 on pack ups (junior school dinners seem tiny from experience and for the price paid, grumble over) it's taken a fair chunk out my grocery budget for the 2 of them, so my odd dinners at work need to stop (I get billed end of half terms for mine).
Just a curious question, does anyone not go a full Christmas dinner route? Just me and my 3 little ones this year, last 2 years they are far from interested in a full Xmas dinner, last year I joked with older 2 that I would start doing fish fingers and chips instead:rotfl: just seems so wasteful.
Must find my pillow now. It's been a long weekDebt free

Oh snotty noses and flue bug-ridden peeps, hugs. I have a failsafe for sleeping with a stinky cold:
In day take paracetamol in temp is up also contact 400 if mucus pouring from orifices is frowned upon or you are flying.
Obtain menthol crystals OTC
Obtain contact 400 from OTC pharmacy.
Steam head with ,method crystals in water
Take contact 400 1 hour before bed and follow 30 mins later with paracetamol and either couple large glasses vino or super strength toddy x 2
After first glass put hot water bottle in bed and make sure lots of pillows.
Put few crystals menthol into bowl hot water and steam head again
Drink second glass vino or toddy
After second glass got to bed, propped on pillows, all drugs now kicking in, sleep will be combination of booze and being able to breathe.
Warning the menthol head steaming bit will result in mucus beyond belief pouring out of your nose. But it is worth it
Also warning DON'T USE TOO MANY MENTHOLS CRYSTALS THEY ARE POTENT,!!,!,!
I kept reading that as Crystal Meth! I need to work in a better class of hsopital.:eek:0 -
