Definitely sounds like blocked filter fuddle... have a look at the manual and have a look. You might have to drain the water via a little tube where the filter is, before opening it - otherwise it'll be a tidal wave across the kitchen!

Thanks toughies. Done that twice today. Each time clear. Think it must be beyond the filter. Had last load on drying setting to open it soaking wet. Water entered the drum again.

Wrung everything out as best I could and hung all over the house. See what tomorrow brings.

Fuddle have you tried seeing if they is anything around the seal of the drum? It's happened to us a few times

Is the drum turning? Ours was doing that and it was the "brushes" not engaging with the drum so it wasn't spinning properly

It's something you could fix yourself - apparently
I wanna be in the room where it happens

If its under warranty I wouldnt do any more than checking the filter you dont want to invalidate the warranty

:(Fuddle, re the washer, I had one which wouldn't pump out, the filter was as clean as a whistle but the exit pipe into the kitchen sink drain was blocked.

Could be checked in about 3 mins, if you want to have a go before getting someone in on the warranty.

I once (accidentally) disabled a very good Bosch washing machine over a bank holiday weekend with a hair grip..........once it was removed from the filter all resumed happily.

:p I have broken my usual habit of not allowing non-natural products onto my lottie but purchasing copious quantities of SLUG PELLETS. Oh yes, I plan to protect my three bean-wams in a moat if blue and let the blighters chow down on that.

I hate using slug pellets too GQ but needs must sometimes. I was given the tip of putting a small amount under a piece of broken pot balanced on some stones (like a little tent) so that the slugs can get in but the birds can't eat them - works very well 'cos you can dispose of the 'remains' easily - its VERY satisfying :)

It's so desperate possession. A horrid, horrid natural occurance. Just awful.

DH searched as best he could amongst the gubbins of washer machine last night and found nothing. As he was getting in the car this morning he saw landlord. He's calling whirlpool out, who will be out in 24/48 hours. He warned us though that if its just an unblock filter we would be charged £70 call out. It's so obviously going to be blocked further up the pipe and going to cost us £70 because the machine is only 6 months old.
