You must be the 'Head Honcho' at Customer Services of Abbey.
I have just had a mail this AM. from your department re: postal ISA1 account and the 5.35% interest rate.
Thanks .
erm you are welcome. but just coincidence. nothing to do with me re letters. i only mentioned to them about the website.
dave, its because that page doesnt make it clear that the old rate of 5.35% still applies to those who used to have it. the website implies, that the current rate is applicable to all accounts. normally thats what you would expect as well.
it'll be changed soon .... watch THIS space. (forget the other one)

Just had a chat with Abbey about why my ISA money hasn't been transferred over yet. They said they still have a backlog, but it is improving.
I was told they are working through transfers from applications made from 20th April and before. In terms of new money and top ups the backlog goes from 20th May and before."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
20th April and before??!
Could they not just employ more staff? Unbelievable.0 -
Sorry, what I wrote may have been misunderstood. The backlog is from applications up till 20th April rather than before (does that make sense?)"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

my understanding was that just prior to the bank holiday they were just under 6weeks behind so yes 20th april would sound about right.

Is the "20th April" the date from which they are completing applications? On the 27th of May I was told that they had just started processing applications received on the 27th of April. This might suggest a 4-week lag, and a two-week processing time. Does this sound right? If this is right I have 1 week to wait.....0
-
well what i was meaning was that they were wokring on transactions received on the 20th april and thereafter ... ie everything received before the 20th was completed.
i could have picked up the info wrong however and it may well be up to the 27th

About how long do you have to wait between the ISA being opened and them sending you a welcome pack (or rather an "its about bloody time" pack)? It's been 3 weeks for me now - you'd think they'd want me to put some money in. But I guess that would have a month-long backlog too.0
