Im STILL waiting on my ISA to be transffered to them. When I phoned them, the girl on the other end said she only had limited information and she couldnt tell me anything and to check with my current provider. GRRRRRRR!!0

If you've read my other posts here you'll know I've tried to transfer my Safeway ISA to an Abbey Postal ISA, failed (they claimed after many phonecalls and 6 weeks that it was lost in the post), and transferred it to Halifax last Monday instead. I'm posting this in the hope other people don't get as confused as I just did....
Today I got a note from the Abbey saying my Safeway ISA has become a Postal ISA - this got me worried because I thought that after everything they told me, Abbey had gone and transferred my Safeway ISA to a new Abbey Postal ISA. This would obviously scupper my transfer from Safeway to Halifax which is already underway. It turns out though that the Safeway ISA has simply "become" an Abbey postal ISA, it isnt a newly opened account, and this shouldn't (at least this is what I was told by Abbey today) affect the Safeway to Halifax transfer.
hope this helps if anyone else in the same needlessly complicated boat.

Glad that you seem to have got a result, even if it was not what you originally wanted.
I have said in last posts on this subject that Abbey are extremely slow in processing their Postal ISA accounts.
This also applies to their replies to customers with queries regarding their ISA1 account (as they now call this)
But nowhere on their web site or customer information can you get this 5.35% interest information about the ISA1 account.
As I have said before, staff at Abbey are still getting used to their 'siesta's' and therefore 'one must wait' for a reply to your question, at their convenience!!
I have the ISA1 account and intend to change this next month, if, and when I personally think, Abbey intend to lower the existing 5.35% rate.

space, and nothing seems to be happening!
If you have any power in the Customer service department, perhaps you can convey the fact that I am stilllllll waiting for a letter and now an email from the Abbey ISA dept regarding the ISA1 (now called) rates.
Or do you think they have all taken a very very long 'siestaaaaaaaa'Follow the 6 'Ps' principle.0 -
What would be great is if the telephone message you get when you phone up told you the received date of the applications they were processing now (e.g. "we are currently processing applications that were received on 1st April 2002"), and how long after they process the application it is likely to be before you hear anything (e.g. "if you have asked us to transfer your ISA, expect to hear from us 400 days after we process your application"). This would perhaps mean that they will have to answer less telephone calls/emails and spend more time processing applications.0

I don't know if this is what you're looking for on the website, but they do show in the "accounts no longer on sale" bit that the postal ISA issue 1 is still 5.35%. Maybe you already knew that though...
