Dropped off a lens with Comet a couple of days ago since the zoom ring was jamming - it is still under manufacturer's warranty and Comet said that it would need to be sent away to the manufacturer (Canon). Phoned Canon up asap when Comet went Tango Uniform who basically said "get it back and we will sort it out". Problem is now that I don't know where the lens is - still with Comet? Have they sent it off? How do I get the damn thing back?
Your best option is to contact Comet but good luck with that at the moment as everyone else will be doing the same :(

If you dropped it off at a store for repair then that would be my first port of call but from what you say it appears that Canon dont have it so Comets in house repair (whoever that third party is) probably has it.
  • We bought an American Fridge Freezer just 2 months ago in full but also opted for the extra 5 year warranty as we have had fridge trouble in the past. We are paying £20 per month for 8 months. Not sure if the warranty is still in place or should I cancel the direct debit??

Rebel go through the paperwork, but all extra care systems should be honoured by either a 3rd party insurer or a separate trust fund.
  • I am hoping someone can help me. Comet came and collected my faulty tv last week, to inspect it for a manufacturers defect. Should they go belly up, what will happen? Are they obliged to return it to me?

Comet always have sale signs up, it's like the DFS of electrical retailers.

They used to make a point that they didn't have sales and their prices were always low. Now they seem to have gone as far the other way as possible and have a permanent sale on.
