I have to write in, Comet told me I would have a gift card last week, but as nothing has as yet arrived I will write as I feel nothing is going to turn up and even if it did it apprears to be worthless anyway.
Thanks for your help, our sons 13 and saved for ages to buy the Ipod and Warrenty, its bad when it happens but even worse when kids are involved, heres hoping they cough up

Beware Comet are not delivering the goods I ordered a samsung TV with surround sound and paid in full two weeks ago they were to deliver today just the surround sound came, it seems Samsung are not letting comet have any more goods because they have gone into administration so no TV when we went to the store they could only offer a bigger TV and we had to pay the difference.:(

Not sure of the legalities of this but a while ago an electronics retailer called Powerhouse (I think it was) went into administration about two days after my parents had ordered and paid in full for a very expensive fridge/freezer which was over £1,500. They had paid by cheque.

The day they went into administration, my dad and I went into the store and asked if we could take the display model, the shop assistants said they couldn't let any stock leave the store or something.

Basically we told them that we were going to take the display model whether they liked it or not and told them that if they wanted to stop us they could either "try it" or phone the police.

They watched us pick it up and walk out of the shop with it before one of them ran out with some bubble wrap and packing tape and wrapped it up for us. Then we put it in the boot of the estate car (half hanging out) and drove off.

Hi, this on behalf of my sister.
She bought a tumble dryer from store which was in stock but she had to wait till today for it to be delivered. She rang the store when she heard news and they told her they were still delivering paid for goods.
Today no delivery and they told her on the phone they have since sold the tumble dryer as they have to sell all stock off cheap!
She bought it for £350 using a visa debit card, will she be able to claim under charge back?
If she took the receipt into store what are the chances of her being able to get a compatible product to take away if she can get someone to collect it?

I am so sorry about those who have lost their jobs just before christmas but also so sorry for those who have lost their hard earned cash on items they will never see.

Just tried to spend voucher we got from 3 when we upgraded our sons phone. Apparently these are not valid.
What's the difference and does it matter where they came from?

We had our washing machine fitted by comet earlier this year, it had been leaking under the cupboard ever since, we only noticed when the floor started to lift......anyway longs story short, we were told via email at the beginning of October, we would get a cheque within 21 days for £430, We went ahead and paid for the new flooring to be fitted. I'm so gutted with Christmas coming up Feel for all the staff

hubby works at one of the warehouses for comet

sale possibly starting tomorrow - old stock only, not sure of discount on items

staff have been told nothing as to whats happening either - which is a worrying time for all concerned as u can imagine

will prob know more when he gets in from work in the morning re sale

When they announced that they were taking gift vouchers again they said they would only take personal ones not corporate ones.

The ones you got from 3 will be corporate, they can't establish at the moment how much was paid for the vouchers by 3 and therefore don't want to let you spend £30 if 3 only paid £15.

Hi I bought a laptop from comet yesterday with 25% of it is a hp and i specifically asked for the fastes processor as my husband has no patience no norton anti-virus to be installed and also if had windows 7 as windows 8 seemed a little unfamilair to try to show him how to use a laptop i was told that yes it did and that no norton anti-virus was on it and that this was the latest fastest processor on getting home and speaking to a friend who is a computer whizz it has an itel core i5 which is nowhere near the fastest processor , norton anti-virus is installed and it is windows 8 it says no refund on the door of comet i paid by credit card is there anything i can do , thanks , lisa
