Comet going into administration?

I purchased a laptop from Comet's ebay store, which turned out to be faulty. I opted for a refund so they arranged for a return, and it was picked up by Yodel yesterday. Now I'm reading that Comet might be going into administration -- where does that leave my refund?

I paid using PayPal (tied to my debit card).

Many thanks.

Just hope that they pay fast. But you may have some protection under the paypal/ebay

I wish people would take a chill pill about comet..... Untill something concrete is released as to what is actually happening.

And not listen to all the scare mongering in the press.

Had someone say that on calling them today, it said office was closed. The time was 08:15.... They don't open till 09:00......
Never ASSUME anything its makes a

Comet retailer to go into administration

About 6,500 retail jobs are at risk after electrical chain Comet confirmed that it would be put into administration next week.

So they ARE NOT in administration YET....

Also administration means they are still trading while a buyer is sought.

So at the moment, the people who know are quoting next week.
Yet according to the press IT WAS TODAY they were going into administration......

Times that the press jump the gun.

BTW. This was not aimed at the OP.
Just I'm sick of people saying that its on TV & in the papers that they are no longer trading... & I wont get my goods because they are not answering the phone before they open and the store will be closed today.....
Just because some jurno want to grab a headline.

Heard on the news tonight that they are expected to go into administration on Tuesday.

The administrators (who have already been appointed - Deloitte) will currently be deciding whether Comet carries on trading until a buyer is found or they close some or all of the stores immediately. This happened with Zavvi where administrators turned up at the stores at 9.00 a.m. and by 9.15 a.m. all but the store managers had been finished and were on their way home closely followed by the store managers by early afternoon.

They may well still be trading, but if they owe someone money or have an order or repair outstanding they'll want that sorted before Comet go into administration, otherwise they risk just being one of many creditors and getting back pennies in the pound if they're lucky. Also, anyone with gift vouchers will need to redeem them before they turn into worthless bits of paper.
