When you spoke to the Tech Guys, what did they suggest you try before they agreed to send you out some discs? Did they pass you through to another department to send you the discs? Also, did they say if they were sending you an OEM Vista Premium DVD or the Advent DVD created especially for the T9308?

I got bounced between Techguys and PCWorld service desk a few times, and in the end the techguys rep said it was all being emailed thru to head office so new discs could be sent out, (Not sure if they will be Advent or OEM) he said it would take 4 working days to get them, so will wait and see, I am not overly concerned as I have Vista Discs here from another PC and figure if I need to reinstall it on the advent should not be a problem as at least the advent has the serial number sticker on it!

    Cheers

    Thanks again Vicky,

I finally got thru to someone at PC World CS and they said they don't send out discs, who then put me back to the tech guys who said they couldn't figure out why the previous tech guy said to ask the store for the discs!
Anyway, the long and short of it is that the tech guys are sending me out a set of recovery discs! (I'm not holding my breath!)

Does anyone who bought this computer find that they keep getting the message "this device can perform faster if plugged into a Hi-Speed USB Port"
when a usb stick or ext.HDD is plugged in to any of the USB ports? I thought all computers these days are fitted with Hi Speed USB2 ports. Does the Hi Speed part need to be enabled in some way? I just tried to load on 12GB of mp3's on and it just told me it would take 5 Hours!!

Ive spoken to tech guys today and eventually (took some persuading) got told i would be getting sent cd/s for recovery. He did a request while i was on the phone for them. I was told it would take up to 28 days though not 4 as said in an earlier post  Oh well as long as i get them is the main thing.

There is an inbuilt hidden recovery section which he got me to check on while i was on the phone, so we could do it without the cds but its nice to have them. When it boots up keep pressing f8 and you will get a screen come up saying about repairing/recovering (not sure of wording now) the system. If you want to just check this but not go ahead just scroll down to the bottom and then choose start windows normally. You may get a black screen come up first before this one where it asks what you want to boot up from, here you pick the hard drive which you can tell by the number having a reference to 250 in it. My other options here were the dvd or 3 other flash drives. I have no idea what they refer to, does anyone else?

Ive been looking about and the more i do the more i realise just what a bargain this system was. I knew all this time of waiting for the right system would eventually pay off and it has. Our other machine was a few years old. So many thanks to the op for this one. Just the cpu even on ebay goes for around just over the £100 mark.

This is indeed a bargain, individualy would cost:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 £82.24

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit Edition DVD £75.19

    GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 £42.29

    Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB £46.99

    Liteon DVD-8900 16x DVD±RW/RAM £16.44

    512MB X1300 Graphics - Around £50

Total £334.29 - And the CPU is on sale so normally over £100

I think the other 3 drives are the same ones that appear in my computer as drives - they are the media bay memory card slots on the front.
