^^ I agree it would seem that sellers are at the mercy of buyers who can trash your stars for any reason even whilst leaving positive feedback.
I have bought a couple of items on ebay lately where the seller must be losing out, I calculated that one had actually made a loss on the whole sale but it seems that they are trying to improve their stars by offering free or very cheap postage. I have had notes included in the parcel with requests for good feedback.
Recently I have had email contact from a couple of sellers actually asking me not to mark them down and if I have any problems please email them. I don't sell, I would never mark a seller down just because I can, I think sellers are already vulnerable without having to worry about someone trashing their dashboard and having to beg a buyer for good feedback. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. So it wasn't my actual slow sending it was her being mean!!! Take a look at these stars My feedback is 1251 100% Positive and look at my dashboard:
(I was slower at sending a few parcels due to moving but did have that stated on listings AND messaged them, plus always had a 3/4 day dispatch time! if I couldn't send the same day)
Item as described 4.701.61% (1)
Communication 4.671.61% (1)
Dispatch Time 4.498.06% (5)
P&P charges 4.603.23% (2)
Because it is anonymous, people don't care what they put! easier to mark low just because they are having a bad day!!! Otherwise why not reflect it in the feedback comments!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You are close to suspension with your dispatch time stars and might need to start taking action to save your account.
not suspension ~ they have banned me! in the few weeks I went without internet (due to moving), I could have listed things to save my account, I didn't understand dashboard properly ~ harsh lesson learnt from ebay, won't even let me try and sort it out, had an account for 8 years!! can't sell ever again!!0 -

It might just be worth phoning and appealing , the problem is your ban may well affect other members of your family.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Why would if affect them? I have another account, they linked it but restricted what I was selling rather then banning that one too which I thought was strange, on my 'main' account they have said I can buy just can't sell!0 -

You or anyone eBay considers 'associated' with you cannot sell on any other account while suspended on eBay. eBay may well have restricted another of your accounts for a different reason, but once they get round to checking more thoroughly you will lose the one you are currently using as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Don't you just love the DSR system.
1* = Appalling
2* = Below average
3* = Average
4* = Above average
5* = Brilliant
Ebay ban you for 4.4 (ish) because you are terrible! :eek:Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0 -

Taking 3 (working) days is a bit lazy, and the buyer should neither know or care why, the buyer pays you for an item, and it should then be posted.
We had a discussion at work, and everyone who buys from eBay was in agreement, 3 days to post is a p*** take, and everyone said they would mark down the stars if they bought from someone who did.
My usual marking, would be 5 stars for posting at the first possible opportunity (same day/next day) dispatch. 3 stars for posting after 2 days and 1 star for 3 days or more.
When I sell, I will always ensure the item is posted same day/next day and so expect the same from any other seller.
A tardy lazy seller will also make me examine the other categories closer, so I will check postage cost against postage charge, and be hypercritical of the item description and will mark down as required.
If the item is posted on the first working day opportunity, I tend to just give 5* across the board as long as the item is as described when it arrives, I don't hold delivery times against the seller, just dispatch times.theonlywayisup wrote: »If I have a buyers money I want them to have their goods asap. Too often on ebay, part time sellers of tat assume there is no urgency in getting the ebay order out.
Well said, and totally correct.====0 -

Read the listing properly then, why buy something if it clearly states that posting will be in xxx days after the sale?

How do you know when the despatch actually happened, are you going by delivery date?

Same here, but if the listing stated the posting would be in xxx days time after the sale then, you don't really have an argument.

How do you mark a business sellers p&p charge (especially if they use PPI Packetpost) when you have absolutely no idea what it actually cost to post?
If the item is posted on the first working day opportunity, I tend to just give 5* across the board as long as the item is as described when it arrives, I don't hold delivery times against the seller, just dispatch times.
How do you know when it was sent, anyone can 'mark as despached' and send it a day or two later?
DSR's in theory are a good idea, but in practice are totally flawed.Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!0
