I'm starting to think orange are wrong, that web link I posted from the EE website makes it seem I can just move over. Off to the shop later, only way I think.
Hardly surprising people are having 2G issues, that 1800 spectrum is what 4G is using. 2100 is the worst on 3G, the higher the number the less indoor penetration.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

I think orange have told you wrong. I think you should be able to move onto EE now. Mind you, you should be patient it only launched today! Give it a few days for them to sort themselves out then enquire.
To be fair though, if you knew orange reception was completely shocking where you worked you should have waited until ee was released and bought your phone then. There is no guarantee that the 4g reception will be any better (it probably will, but stll there is no guarantee!!)0 -
Well I've been with Orange for many years got my iPhone 5 last month when it came out. Called 150 this morning and was transferred to an EE representative who changed me over in 5 mins no cost or extra charges.
Have you tried calling there free phone number 0800 956 6000 from a landline and speaking to a representative?Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

ALSO 2G handset upgrades are excluded apparently
"
We can swap your old 3G phone for a shiny new 4G one, and upgrade your plan to a superfast 4GEE phone plan. All for just £99.
Swap your phone for a 4G version. Just £99
You can swap to 4GEE for just £99 any time in the first 6 months of your contract with Orange or T-Mobile. All you’ve got to do is head to any EE store and ask to swap to 4GEE.
Our in-store experts will walk you through the process. So you can walk out with a brand new 4G-ready phone, and a superfast 4GEE phone plan.
All ready and raring to go.
I want to get 4GEE
Great. Pop into any EE store and one of our friendly staff will be able to help.
You need to know- Phones you can swap from are Apple iPhone 4S, the Samsung Galaxy SIII and the HTC 1X
- You can swap to either an Apple iPhone 5, a Samsung SIII with 4G, an HTC One XL or a Nokia 920
- The new EE plan that you swap to must be of the same length and cost as your current plan on Orange or T-mobile, or higher
- It will take up to one business day to port your old number to your new EE phone
- Remember to back up your data and contacts before giving us your old phone
- This offer ends on 31 December 2012
- You’ll need to return your old handset in perfect, working condition. You should check you have 4G coverage where you need it before swapping to EE. Other terms apply.
Contract over six months old?
If your contract is over six months old we can't swap you over for £99. But you can still get an 'early upgrade', which gives you 33% off your remaining contract.
Pop into an EE store with your existing contract and we'll be happy to help."SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
"The new EE plan that you swap to must be of the same length and cost as your current plan on Orange or T-mobile, or higher" I'd assume you cannot upgrade to 4G till Jan. You cannot do this as the promo ends last day of 2012, they want money for nothing by you buying out your T-M contract - I'd be lodging a complaint with executive office.
"It will take up to one business day to port your old number to your new EE phone" you port to a sim !! So you have swapped over but does a 4G handset allow you use your 3G sim in it until the next business day when the new EE sim is active ??SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... 12 month SIM only contracts have now been removed from the website
"For customers who have already bought a 4G-capable phone elsewhere, EE will be launching SIM-only packages on the 9th of November starting at £21 a month for 500MB, £26 a month for 1GB, £31 a month for 3GB, £36 a month for 5GB and topping out at £41 a month for 8GB. Unlike the subsidised contracts, all SIM-only packages are on a 12-month agreement."
Replaced by VERY expensive 12 month handset plans:
