Why dont you call them back and speak to someone else or go into a store. The advertising at the time explicitly said if you take out a iPhone 5 contract you can change over to 4GEE when it launches.
  • I was willing to take the risk on signal as I'd heard that 4g gets into buildings better.

  • Ah, my afternoon plans have been changed. Have now got time to go to the EE shop and either
    a) Complain
    b) cry
    c) have a hissy fit and hand over £99
    d) go to the o2 shop and buy a cheap payg

Can't call, signal too bad keep losing it - been on hold a lot this morning and then the call fails. Didn't have time to visit a shop until the weekend but now my appointment after work has been cancelled and I can now go to the shop. Result.

Might have to. I think I'll try the shop first, then if that doesn't work write a letter of complaint to orange and/or EE and if that doesn't work then go to OfCom.

Love this part, at no point has the OP been "banging on about the iPhone 5 as if it's brilliant", he said he had an iPhone 5 once, maybe twice.

Let me guess, you don't have an iPhone, perhaps you have an Android phone and hate Apple?

It always makes me smile that all people need is the slightest mention of Apple or Android to start a flame war!

You guess right I don't have an iphone, you guess wrong that I hate iphones, you guess right I have an android device as well as apple devices.
So, in your short sighted narrow mind, has it not passed any brain cells that his handset could be faulty? Patchway near Bristol is the home of Orange they have an extensive test bed there (or used to) not sure where the flame war is going on, as he could just as well have any other handset and experience the same symptoms, there are lots of people and mobile users in Bristol, so I suspect his network faults are unique to the OP and hence the handset could be faulty?

Friend in the same office in north bristol having the same problems on a totally different handset. Everyone on orange in my office has to go outside to make calls. Good point and definitely something to consider, but I'm not the only one.

I'm starting to think orange are wrong, that web link I posted from the EE website makes it seem I can just move over. Off to the shop later, only way I think.
