Anyone having trouble moving from Orange to EE?

Hi Everyone
I got an iPhone 5 last month and was told I could transfer across to EE free of charge once it launches. Now Orange are telling me I've got to wait 6 months (I've been with them a month).
Was on hold with Orange while they were trying to get me an answer and the call eventually failed because the signal at my desk is SO bad.
Tried to email them and apparently the email system is being 'improved' and I need to call them. I CAN'T call you I have no signal!!!!!!!
Anyone else in this rather horrible boat?

Have tried twitter, it appears to be the last hope of getting in touch with themTrying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

I'm so angry I actually want to cry. Orange have confirmed I have to wait 6 months. EE website was saying that you'd be able to move over straight away if you get an iphone 5 on orange. Now they're saying you have to wait 6 months. They've done a complete 180. I'm now stuck on a 2 year contract on a phone that I can barely use. Guess I now have to deal with them over letter because they won't be able to call me and vice versa. Complain is all I can do and I bet that won't do anything.Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

Your waffling on about what they said, do you have anything in writing? If not, then there is little foothold in your claim, 4g only started today to the public, and even here in sunny Bham, coverage outside the city centre is patchy, I do recall reading that current customers can change to a 4g tariff for a charge of £99, you keep banging on about iphone 5 as if it's brilliant, truth is , it's not, the guy at work who got one at launch says the home button is messing around already, TGM has not been back since the gushing review thread, perhaps time to consider not paying a premium to beta test handsets and networks?0

I have nothing in writing - but I'm not the only person that read on their website that if you took out an iphone 5 with Orange you'd be able to move straight onto EE with no penalty when it launches. I just wish I'd taken a photo of the website. There are some angry people out there on Twitter.
Anyhow, I have not been banging on about how good the iPhone 5 is - which thread have you been reading? I am under no illusion that any phone is perfect. I am upset about what I deem to be false advertising, not the quality of my phone.
I am not waffling on. I am using coherrent sentences. Please don't write in here unless you have something useful to add, I wouldn't do this to one of your threads.Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

What I replied was useful otherwise you would have ignored it, as said what I recall seeing was that customers who had joined within the precceeding 6 months could opt for a 4g tariff on redemption of £99 , never FREE. Not sure why I noticed that at various sources and a selected few have not?
I'm not with orange t-mobile EE, but I do recall seeing that, so I am with their stance on that

The £99 charge was if you have a 3g phone and want to upgrade to a 4g phone if I recall. It stated that if you buy an iphone 5 through orange you could just move over.
I think I'm completely stuck here and only option is to write a letter of complaint and then get a cheap payg for the next 5 months so that I can at least take calls.Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

Yes I agree, for instance if someone had just purchased an S3, they could upgrade to the 4g model at £99, there was also the charge as my mate had just purchased 2 ip5 as they were released, I do recall having a convo with him about it, I was just trying to find the news articles about the charges.0 -
To be honest I might even be willing to pay £99 to move over now if all else fails but they're not even giving me that option.Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

Love this part, at no point has the OP been "banging on about the iPhone 5 as if it's brilliant", he said he had an iPhone 5 once, maybe twice.
Let me guess, you don't have an iPhone, perhaps you have an Android phone and hate Apple?
It always makes me smile that all people need is the slightest mention of Apple or Android to start a flame war!0 -

Paying it may not resolve your issues with reception, 4g is likely to be patchy even in the cities and certainley there should not be 4g only coverage where 3g/2g is available, as I beleive EE are using 4g at 1800/2600mhz not the 800mhz band.0
