I received a call from my relationship manager informing me the new ISA rate for Select and 123 customers will be 2.3%. Quite happy with this, obviously not as good as the 4% I am on but better that is out there and not worth the hassle in changing.

Is that 2.3% for 2 years fixed?

Still less than the net after BR tax for a 123 current account on instant access.

Yes 2 year fixed. Myself and my wife already hold two 123 accounts and don't want to lose the tax free status of our money so want to keep the funds in an ISA.

The select service is actually quite good, I rang them today and the woman was very helpful, kept checking things and calling me back etc.
  • Santander Select is a service proposition which is free and complimentary. There are additional services and enhancements and you can also be appointed with a relationship manager and 24/7 priority support number which is not automated.

Currently some of the offers for Select customers are 2 year fixed rate Isa at 1.80% but if there are any new 2 year fixed rate Isa's introduced up unti 31 May 2014 the rate will automatically increase and an enhancement on the 123 credit card with an additional 3% cashback on bars and restaurants until 31 May.

There's alot of other services, just contact them to find out.

    Welcome to the forum belfort.

Firstly, it's not good netiquette to troll in your first two posts :(

Secondly, I don't expect Santander to make up a specific ISA rate just for me but if they're going to offer a select service then you would expect a little extra for your loyalty. It's not only me with a lot invested with them, if they suddenly lost 10s of 1000's of customers because of carp rates then they have a reason to be worried.

Thirdly, it's not a freephone number, it's a national rate number and they tell you not to include any personal information in emails. They offer an email contact and then don't use it as such. It would have been easy to answer the question I put to them in general terms without any personal information being involved.

Thanks for the reply. Firstly, I'm not trolling. So let's clear a few things up.

You will find that the Select 033 number is in fact a free phone number. It is also mobile friendly meaning it comes off your inclusive minutes.

Also, if you go on to santanderselect.co.uk you will find that they offer specific products only available to Select customers to reward you for your loyalty.

At the end of the day they are offering a free service where you don't have to go through an automated system, you get through to a person, hardly queue and offer special rates. What more do you want? Or do you just like complaining?
