Sorry I really meant for the rate as opposed to the esaver.

Just so you are aware the original post by zerog is dated 29-10-2012. :)

Not sure what you mean by "the rate"?

There are no better [interest?] rates for any Santander account for "Selecteds" right now, as far as I can make out.

The best interest rates for cash ISAs have always been available to 123 customers. Nothing different for the "Selecteds".

Yes the 'Select' offering is currently available, I was not referring to that though.

I maybe wrong but I read it as grizzly1911 was alerting zerog to the interest rate on the 123 current account, hence the reason I let him know the date of the post he was replying to.

There has been no change in interest rates on the 123 since it first came to the market.

Yes again I am aware of that but I didn't say there has been a change with the rates on the 123 account.

In post 9 above grizzly1911 was replying to zerog's OP (thats how I read it), this bit:

I only have about £20K in my esaver, which will be leaving in 8 months unless they jack up the rates again.

thinking zerog was leaving if Santander did not improve their esaver rates, hence grizzly1911 alerting zerog to the 123 account:
Do you have a 123 account for the rates? Conditions apply.

What he meant by 'Conditions apply' is to get the 123 rate you have to have 2 DD's, pay in £500 etc.

Thanks that is what I was trying to convey.:o

I've also just received my "welcome" to this "service". As far as I can see, the only reason I qualify is because my work expenses repayments push me over the 5K/month barrier most months (but haven't actually done so since September).

The £750/day debit card might be quite useful, but if I get one, and then go a few months without large enough expense claims to hit this target will they cancel it again? Its not worth my while to apply for this card if I know its likely to be rescinded again.

Me too. I wonder if they've just sent out a new batch of invitations for this service, or do they continuously review our balances and incoming payments?
  • I have HSBC premier and have recently been invited to Santander Select. I am very happy with the service I receive so far especially having someone there to answer all my questions. It's a complimentary service as well!
