Tablecloths I can't believe I am having to ask but they are now classed as OS

TK Maxx always seem to have a reasonable selection of posh ones at knock-down prices. I don't own a tablecloth but I do swear by TK Maxx for the majority of household linen (bedclothes etc).

Not sure if this has been suggested, if so I apologise.
I also have kids that are a bit messy - goes with the territory. My local material store had a wide selection of plastic tableclothes on rolls. They were all a good width and you can have as much as you like. Can't remember the cost though. I've also put a heat resistant cloth underneath, think Co-Op do these.New Mantra: I must not visit MSE until after I've completed all my chores!!!!!0 -
Thanks for all the info. I have a TKMaxx and MAtalan near by which I will have a look in, will try the ones further away if I get no joy. Tescos I tried, and Au Natural or whatever it's call, same old only do runners and mats. I never thought about shower curtains, what a good idea, DS2 is a crafty one and always making something (usually a mess) his kids paint stained the towel I used but can get a shower curtain from £1 shop so will get one.
Also wundaweb, I do have some of that, never thought of using it for a big job like this but if it works may try that if I get stuck. One day I might be more organised...........

Dunelm would be my first choice, but large dept stores have them (John Lewis etc) but these are not very moneysaving - however they will last you a lifetime.0

I bought mine from M&S. JL have a lovely selection online and instore although not cheap.
If it is mainly for protection from the little ones I would certainly look at the wipe down ones. If you have a curtain shop near you look in that first as all the curtains shops around here AND the wallpaper/paint shop sell that by the metre. I've actually got a yellow one with little bumble bees on round hives - very pretty! lol
EDITED:
I've got an oval table and everywhere has rectangle/oblong, square or round tablecloths! So if you don't have an oval table you have more chance of picking something up cheaper.0 -
I got two lovely tablecothes from Lidl a while ago. I think they get them in occasionally. They were only £4.99 each, and very good quality.0

I saw some wipe clean ones in woolworths the other day, they were very pretty sort of laura ashley or cath kidston style but quite cheap...about a fiver i think.I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals0

Another vote for TK Maxx. I had bought a couple of white cotton ones form IKEA but with two young uns I was lucky if they sutvived one meal without being returned to the washer. I managed to get a really lovely oilcloth one form TX Maxx for £12.99. It is pink with a bold leafy crowny feathery sort of design!! (v. pretty honest). It was well worth the initial outlay. A quick wipe and its good as new. Great for making dough, pastry and pasta on too.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0
