LW - I'm sure you'll talk yourself into buying it soon, the seed has been sown!

Right better put last of washing on airer. And turn the heating up, I'm freezing.

I love dumplings :D I usually follow the recipe on the side of the suet packet :o I am up in the bedroom, but if I remember when I go downstairs I will put it on here (if no one else does in the meantime)

I think I have finished my essay :j:j Just need to check my references, and get DH to proof read it. I may do that tomorrow, as it needs to uploaded by 11.55pm.

For now, I am going to tackle one of my half term frogs that has been languishing on my list all week :( It has not been the productive week I had hoped for :o

Just taking 5 then going out in the rain for me as I cant be bothered to do a full shop this weekend - putting todays sudden found energy into flying :D. I do however need milk and fresh air.

Dusty I've never made dumplings either but if my DH can make them successfully then I'm certain you'll find them a doddle

re the dumplings Dusty (hope I'm not too late)

    4 oz sr flour
    2 oz suet
    pinch salt

whizz together in processor. Dribble 1/4 pint cold water in

    lump will form

then (this is the trick) turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth (only about 5 minutes tbh, but they're fluffier if you knead the dough). cut into equal portions and roll into balls with floury hands..

Add to pan/pot for the last 15-20 minutes

    They will DOUBLE in size

can freeze prior to cooking but frozen ones don't fluff up nearly so well. I do double mix and freeze some, they can be cooked from frozen otr allowed to thaw. They can be added to a SC for the last 20 mins if thawed, 30 if frozen. Better thawed IMO

    DS loves 'em

Me too - it's been blooming cold in our part of the world today hasn't it?

I have completed the ironing, put it away and changed DD1's bed.

Walked into York (about 1.5 miles) spent a fortune in Boots and picked up tickets for me and DD1 to see Skyfall tomorrow afternoon - we've both used free tickets on our Picturehouse membership - very satisfying!

Thanks Valli - they worked well, didn't have time for the kneading but they worked so next time I'll do that bit too. Also cooked curly kale for the first time and DH liked it which was good as he is not cabbage or brocolli keen (DS1 ate it too).

    DW on
    Clothes on the maiden

Ebay listing to do still and ironing and mending so it won't be an early night.

    List in a bit
