Actually so amped for this challenge!!! :-)
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • Just found these.. I am determined to out do these conglomerates egging us on to spend money on food through promotions and waste is when we buy too much and it goes off.. ...use your freezer folks for the discounted just about to go out of date vegetables... milk can be frozer to save you going back and being distracted at the expensive corner store.. cycle to Tescos with just a rucksack ( no side paniers )- that will stop you buying too much , buy eggs from your neighboring farms even if they don't have a sign up - time to get to know the locals.. walk and talk...

Lets beat the big boys with a massive discounted bread stick...

  • Good Morning to you... £250 is very high for two people but since you are very new and I can virtually sense you quaking in your booties I will let you have this. Although technically aim for £200... if you really need that £50 then you know its there..take outs / restaurants are banned - bins on toast is very much in..

When you mean MOT dramas is this actually for your car..? Or am I being a bit special... do you mean dramas in general...?

Ok will try..I know its high for MSE but its getting much lower than it used to be!! I would survive hurricane sandy without a single trip to the shops in prep!!! its a big downfall of ours so thats why we are cutting down - bit by bit!

Yes MOT dramas - is the car = it shoud be fine *fingers crossed* but you just never know!!!

We have two meals out - already arranged for my two BIL's birthdays but otherwise we will stay at home.... promise to do my best x:D

Ah I see what you mean regarding the car... my bike is planned for a £150 re-vamp on the 1st.. so this is okay as you clearly have it planned for along with those meals out etc...

Check out the links above regarding food shopping...:D.. join me in my quest to bring Tesco to its knees...( by buying broccoli at 10p only )...

Good Luck - you are in the right place...

I've been looking at this thread for days thinking 'should I, shouldn't I?' - what the heck, let's go for it!! :)

Apart from rent and the usual DDs, my expenses are:

    Groceries - £80 (2 adults)
    Diesel - £80
Misc - £40 (2 birthdays and a meal with my friend, although I'm going to see what I can do about getting some free stuff).

I have got lots of mystery shops lined up already for November, but I'm not going to count those as spending days as I will get my money back as long as I stay in the spending limit. I'm going to try and get a free meal this way too so I can cut back on the £40.

    Good luck everyone :)

  • Hi all,

I have budgeted for £90 for the month but I live on Cereal(Love it) porridge and £1 micro meals. Odd dinner gets made when my wee boy comes to stay but he is addicted to toast and scrambled eggs, so i reckon I could come under by a fair bit, taking into account the food already in the house. Have done a stock check of the cupboards, fridge and freezer, and going to use up all that first,(could be a few strange meals tho)haha, so could possibly be 3 weeks in before any food needing bought. Milk and bread only before then.

Ninjasavingkat, This has been a great idea, could kiss you!!!! lol
I really cant wait to get started.:j:j

Please don't end up nutrient deficient because of me... porridge oats by the bag from Tescos are cheaper in the long run and better for you that pots if you ever go down that route.. Hope you are on the Tesco Everyday Value cereal...?

Am sure you can buy eggs in lots of 20 from Asda although it scares me what they do to the chickens...

  • I switched on the slow cooker and chucked in the bones from the roast chicken we ate sunday night, some bay leaves carrots and an onion - will strain it when I get home and add veg to make soup and freeze some and eat the rest for lunches this week = if I dont go to the shops for lunch then an NSD is so much more likely !!

  • Hey everyone!

I have just sorted out my cosmetics draw, and tbh I have enough of everything in there to last me for atleast the next 6 months!! So deffinately no need to buy any more beauty products. I am going to use all of what I already have before buying anything new!

How did I build up such a collection???
