Morning all, woken up today to no socket power, by process of elimination it is my freezer:( will look at it in a bit when there is some decent light as it is in the shed. If its gone, I will have to do some damage limitation with what I have frozen, however, I have been running the stocks down for over a month and there is only one joint of meat in there and only 1 4pinter of milk plus various other bits, so I will probably have to do some random meals for a few days as I will have to cook a lot of what has defrosted otherwise will have to throw away.

Will have to buy a new freezer if it is totally broken as just can't survive without one:(

Today will be a NSD, as planned but might have to rejigger figures for my December budget now.

    Morning :)
Another NSD for yeaterday, and also for today. That makes 24 NSDs i think!

JAMIE- sorry to hear about your freezer, they really are one of those 'Cant live without' items arent they, especially when trying to save money. I hope its not too expensive to fix/replace.

MISSY-well done to amking it to NSD #23, despite all of your set backs. you have done really well.

I am doing yet MORE job hunting today. I am so fed up with getting no replies :( Please Santa, bring me a full time permanent job for Christmas! Its so demoralising when you apply for endless jobs yet dont hear anything back..not even a 'no thank you'. Never mind, i need to keep positive :)

WanttobeSE - thanks, can report it is all the electrics in the shed!!!! I haven't any room in the house for a freezer that big, so choices will be pay electrician to fix electrics or buy small freezer which will fit into under stairs cupboard.... Will have to think x

  • Yay!!! Problem solved:):)

I dug out my camping electric hook up, which luckily I have a converter for and now the freezer is working as I have rigged it up to the house electric supply using the hook up:j I now know that it is def the electrics to the shed that are broken. This is not too much of a problem at all, however, I don't want the hook up permanently in place so will try and sell some old stuff over the next few months to get enough money together to buy a smaller freezer which can go in the house.

The electrics hadn't been off for long and because freezer is in the shed, nothing had even attempted to defrost lol, so thankfully I haven't lost any food. I shall endeavour to run the freezer down over the next few months, while still using it for bread and milk, until I have managed to get a new freezer. The shed can then go back to just a storage shed again.

    I'm so pleased:)

  • Searching..... You have hit the nail on the head about what I have been thinking the last few days. 2013 is going to be mine! All mine! I will pursue what i want, do things on my own to kill my debts and I will keep my head high...

I am truly sorry you are feeling down, I know so many on here do not share there money worries with friends and family in case they aren't received well so from the bottom of my little NSK heart I am sending you hugs.. a proper hug though, not one that is awkward but a firm hug... it WILL get better... keep looking upwards!!

NSD #25. Never thought I would make it. When I first hit the NSD and pledged for 15 in October I thought I was mad.. and only managed it cause I went home to Ireland for 6 days..:p:p:p... but on my own steam, determination and sheer stubbornness YOU have made it with me..

I don't care if you have 22 NSD's... or 12NSD's.. you clearly have more this month than you did last month and if you haven't I would like to know how you feel about the last month....

I got home last night and to bed around midnight, I was up again at 0500 with a ride to work of 60minutes. It was -2 this morning when I left my house so forgive me for being a little behind in updates...

Its bad enough having to find something interesting to say for three threads...good thing I like the look of my own words...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

JamieDodger - you little beauty, well done on your DIY electrics...:T

    Good evening all :)

Tonights 'oh my god there's no food in the house, but dammit i wont spend any money' dinner is...chorizo and tomato spicy noodles.
i just choipped up some fresh tomatoes and some chorizo, and fried in garlic oil for 5 mins.
Then made up some egg noodles (3 mins- so nice and quick) and coated with sesame oil, mixed all together, sprinkled with dried chilli flakes, and hey presto!

A NSD again :) Today is approx -2, but i am determined to walk instead of drive to school, so i didnt use the car.
